Roger Rashid in commentary hit the nail on the head - Becker was just unable to knock Tursunov off his stride in any department. Dima was applying too much pressure off the ground - weight of shot was troubling him from start to finish.

What is interesting, is that he didn't shine during the tournament, but totally outplayed his opponent in the final. That's how it's done

Becker is a clown and this scoreline was inevitable if Dima showed up to play.

Mitya loves Bangkok. ;)

Good job Dmitry, this win made sure he stayed in the Top 30. :yeah: Will he be in Tōkyō as well? :tape:

Yes - he's supposed to be in Tokyo :) Though still time to pull out if he's tired I guess

And it always amuses me when people call Dima "brainless" - he might lack concentration sometimes on court, but off course, he's probably the most intelligent guy on the ATP Tour :)

:yeah:

The final today took less than an hour so hopefully he's not too tired for Tokyo even if he said at the ceremony that he had enough tennis yesterday, plus the 3-setters before that.

Well done to Tursunov on winning Bangkok. He didn't do well in the majors this year so this title helps a little bit.

I saw this match live. It was really Dmitry's day. Forehand and backhand were spot on.

I don't know why, but majority of the crowd were pro-Becker.
