Why is it ridiculously complicated to get a russian visa. Shouldn't they encourage tourism?

With the 2014 Olympics game, I say it's time they start making it easier to enter the country.

I'm shocked you even need a visa to go to Russia. Is that due to reciprocity? Where are you from?

To my knowledge, most countries need one. It's expensive and you need an "invitation" (hotel voucher). A agency can take care of the details, but it's even more expensive.

Try single female under 30. US consulates (?sp) believe every single female wants to come to USA and marry any guy to try to stay.

btw, shouldn't the title be "Russia Visa" instead of "Russian Visa"?

Unfortunately, Russian government makes it hard for European and US citizens to get to Russia because it's not easy for Russians to get a visa in the US or Europe...
