The Tim Henman (4th Round edition) Cheering Thread!

Tim Henman is going for a new British record...the first Briton to reach the quarter-finals of the French Open in over 15 years (I would be grateful if someone filled me in on when that last was - probably the 1970s/1980s with John Lloyd).

On a more personal note, this is his umpteenth opportunity to reach a quarter-final of a Slam outside Wimbledon after numerous appearances in the fourth round of the Aussie Open and the US Open.

Llodra is no rookie player though and Tim will find him a tough prospect on clay i'm sure. Don't automatically assume Tim will win this match - think back to when Greg Rusedski lost at this same stage in 1999 (?) to an underdog from Uruguay!!

Good luck Tim and school Llodra!!! :)

Down 2 sets to love now, and 3rd set is locked at 4-all. Could he pull off another come back? I hope so.

Come on Tim! :clap2:

Although I like Tim, I hope Mika can clinch the victory.. Interesting match though, especially on clay ;)

Go Tim!!! :bounce:

He's just about the only fave I have left in RG. If that isn't a sign that there's something wrong in this world, I don't know what is (given that most of my other faves excel on clay). :p

I'm not really a great fan of him, but it's very mentionable and honorable to come back twice within one week after trailing 0-2 sets.

That's quite an achievement.

Congrats, Henman (for win) and Llodra (for these good results this week) :yeah:

I would be :haha: if Tim wins RG. Don't get my wrong, he is one of my favourites. I just think it would be funny because at Wimbledon he's always one of the favourites, but he hasn't been able to go all the way. At RG he's not one of the favourites and I don't think he'll win, but it's still possible.

Anyway he's done well so far and I wish him all the luck for his next round. Go Henman, you can make the SF. :bounce:
