Gasquet is A.W.E.S.O.M.O

He's the best I have seen playing tennis. Hope he wins the Tennis Masters cup this year.

If he keeps up this form he could qualify 8th in the Race.

Specially now with top seeds pulling out everywhere. Gasquet should rise to the moment and win as many points as he can now!

Allez Gasquet!!!! It would be awesome seeing him at the TMC!!!

Interesting that he was asked how he would approach this match yesterday considering Koubek had a gaint killing record playing in India (last year he beat Mario Ancic in Mumbai and this year Moya in Chennai), he said "I am playing at my best tennis, This time he's going to stop in the quarters."

WoW. Nice attitude man. Even if its only against 55 ranked player, instead of the usual 'he is a great player' cliche.

At first glance I thought the thread title read GasQUEER.

And your overrated clown can win as many MM tournaments and still will be stuck at second place, crying his eyes out because of a sore ass.

Gasquet is beginning to understand when he plays his best tennis, others can't win.

An unmistakeable sign he is Poised to attain the champion's mentality. The day of being crowned getting closer and closer!

That's the attitude he needs - no more Mr. Nice Guy. Nice start to what will hopefully be a good fall season. He needed a few wins, even if it is in an "MM Tourney" to build up his confidence. And Koubeck is not bad - he played a few really good sets against Blake in the U.S. Open.

Allez Richie!

Love the new attitude, he needs to keep thinking like that. He should always feel that his opponent should worry and not the other way around whether they're ranked higher or lower than him. It's actually kind of advantageous to have that kind of "boxing" talk on your opponent because it forces a player to deliver their words. If you tell the press that your opponent's participation in the tournament is going to come to a halt today when you play him, mentally such an attitude should push you to make your words come true to avoid embarassment. Gasquet would have gone farther this year if he had this kind of attitude early on.

Now that Hewitt's gone from the tournament, Gasquet has a good chance to win the title.

He faces Santoro in the SF tomorrow and Olivier Rochus/ Rainer Schuettler in the final. I hope he just breezes past everyone. And makes his mark in Tokyo too. I would love to see him winning the year end masters. I know I am dreaming, but I like to do that.

Unless he improved his fitness greatly, he won't win Tokyo. He needs a month's rest between tournies.

I'm happy to see him win and I'll be thrilled to see him qualify for the Masters - he's my dark horse for knocking Nole out :) And a re-match between him and Andy would be quite entertaining.

It's all in his head, about time he gets over it.

Yeah, he will get the month's rest this time. The Tokyo tourny starts in October and the Mumbai tourny is over in September itself. So theoretically he has the chance to win in Tokyo.

I am originally from India and would have loved to be in Mumbai now to take some snaps with Gasquet as the tennis audience there are quite unsure who this player is and everyone would be crowding Hewitt.

But now I live in Australia, so I am sad.
