Just goes to show that Isner much like Karlovic is capable of losing to pretty much anyone.

Interesting. Must be hard mentally... one day you're playing Federer on Arthur Ashe, the other you're playing some no-one... John will bounce back.

He lost to someone named Fritz Wolmarans 7-5, 6-4 in Tulsa. Damn.

Donald Young is through to the third round.

There's already a thread for that, newbie, are you blind?

I KNEW IT! FRITZ :woohoo:

Just goes to show that Isner much like Karlovic is capable of losing to pretty much anyone.

Wolmarans is NOT just anyone. Have you actually seen him play? He's a huge talent and I wouldn't be surprised if he matched Isner for aces. He's only just started taking everything seriously this year and don't be surprised to see him winning ATP matches soon.

The guy named Fritz Wolmarans is in my avatar :)

He's not just a no-name, and I've been waiting for his breakthrough for a while. Seems to be happening as of the last month.

Edit: This was in response to the merged thread, I didn't *just* make another reply for no reason

are you Fritz fans kidding or not?

and no I obviously didn't see it, if I had I probably wouldn't have started another thread. I probably just didn't think anyone else would be hardcore enough to not only follow but also post about a challenger result.

No I'm not kidding. It's very realistic for me that he'd win this match. It looks like there were only a couple of breaks. If Fritz was serving well and Isner didn't get a look, then it's quite possible for Isner to have the ocassional lapse and be broken. He's very solid off any short balls.

Newbies couldn't be any stupider, it seems.

winning a tiebreak against Roger makes you a "Fed Killah" these days  just goes to show how dominant Roger is.

Isner was the last person to arrive in Tulsa, straight from Sweden. Fritz has been playing in the US for the last few weeks. This isn't that big of a surprise.
