Didn't expect such an easy match. Fognini always do a good match, then a terrible one.

Match lasted 41 minutes

He's :smoke: 6-0,6-1 in 41 minutes!! Fabio probably just wanted to go home it was about 11 pm and I'm guessing miserable weather.

O.K. eveyone is going to say "expected win" but nothing is expected with Gasquet and especially not a wipe out like this. Fabio did beat Murray earlier this summer.

Keep it up Richie!

Nice to see him get a few wins under his belt after the last tourneys :tape:
I haven't really be following this tourney and feel to lazy to check, could anyone tell me who he'd potentially have to face to reach the final ?

Next match Koubek then Santoro or Nieminen and Hewitt or Kiefer to finish

Thanx it should be doable depending on Hewitt's form... I really hope he gains some confidence I have tickets for Bercy and I'd like to see at least one player I like this time, not that the davydenko herbaty match wasn't a great one..

Gasquet should find a gf fast to help him perform better ;)

He has the tools but not the spirit (except from that amazing match against A-Rod at Wimbledon) :worship:

it's good to see Richard having a positive response to his terrible US Summer (including injury problems). He appears to be playing very tight tennis right now. Hopefully he'll finish the year well and make the masters cup.

Fognini is really really inconsistent lately

Maybe Yannick Noah has helped him find his confidence. However I will refrain from getting overexcited about this new move until he wins this tournament. :p

It is sad that Fognini had me worried. But then again, I've seen him lose to Azzaro.

What do you mean by his "new move"? Is Yannick Noah his new coach?

If Gasquet wins Mumbai I think he'll be #13 in the Race.

Hopefully he either wins or does quite well in Vienna, Lyon and the two remaining Masters Series left.

Should he win Mumbai and be #13 in the Race players like Gonzalez, Blake, Haas, Moya, Robredo and Ljubicic will still be ahead of him in the race though hopefully he'll do well enough to qualify in either the 7th or 8th position (where Gonzalez and Blake currently are).

The easiest match of Federer this year was against Fognini too (6-1, 6-1).
