Frankie wins for the 3rd time in a row and also in 3 sets like their other 2 matches.

del Potro was up a break in the 3rd set, but after saving 4 bps, couldn't hold out.

That match should have never went to a tie-break in the 3rd. He had the break he needed to win, and he just gave it away. Delpo did well to get it back to deuce after going down 0-40 on his serve at *4-3, but then he double faulted twice in a row to give Frank the game. And that was the beginning of the end.

Poor Delpo...going to be kicking himself over that one. As well he should.:smash:

These two have played each other three times now in the past 2 months, and Dancevic has won every single time.

Coincidentally, they are also playing doubles together. Their first match is tomorrow.

all in all low class match

both players have very negative w/ue ratio (Del Pony -15, Dancevic -22)

anyway good win, Frank :yeah:

Well done to Frank :bigclap: . It was encouraging that he could win the match, despite the fact that his serve deserted him for large periods of it. I agree that the quality was generally poor.

I thought del Porto could pull this one off.

Good win from Dancevic. After the 2nd set and the break up from JMDP in the 3rd, I thought it was over.

It was interesting to see Del Potro serve & volley pretty much after every first serve in the 3rd set, a couple of times even on second serve. He was quite good at it, I hadn't seen that side of his game before. Frank just had a few too many good returns/passing shots today.

Del Potro is still on the way to be the biggest young choker.

Among talented players under 20, he's probably the biggest choker. But he's still too young so hopefully he will get mentally tougher as he matures.

Sure, he is that much better, that's why we won in a third set tb and won less games than JMDP

Better players always find a way to win.

Del Pony is an overrated choker.

JMDP is a choker, we agree there. Frankie didn't find any way to win, JMDP was in control and he gave it away :wavey:

Most Argentinians are poor servers.

There would have been significantly more Argentinian Grand Slam winners if they had addressed this issue years ago.

When will we see an Argentinian player who serves even nearly as good as e.g. Sampras.

The USTA and the Argentinian Federation should work some sort of young player's exchange program. The US players would benefit from playing better on clay/ off the baseline and the Argentinian players would learn a couple of things about attacking tennis.

Its funny, Del Potro inexplicably collaspes against Dancevic, now they are playing doubles together today. Levy also did the same against Udomchoke.....and you guessed it, they are playing doubles together as well.

Coincidence....or not?
