Thanks for that IL. I am in the uni computer lab cracking up and these nerds don't get why.

Cantona at the end was hilarious and that last one they looked at each other and then fell at the same time.

It comforts me to know that Henry would never have tried that when playing for Arsenal. But apparently it is OK when playing for France. Of course now that he is with Barca, he and Ronaldinho and Messi can compare notes and take their diving skills to new heights. Of course, he still needs to adopt a feminine hair style to make the 3 stooges complete.

The curse of the game... but still very funny.

There have been a few funny tv adverts focusing on diving:

Here's one: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=TpXEa1gzBI0

And here's another [my personal favourite!]: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=T8YL8Q3h_Zs

He took a few dives for Arsenal, the most recent one was last year in the CL

I remember watching this one live and thought this was a 9,5 from the judge.

Jürgen Klinsmann at his best and the Finnish commentary is great as well. Watch after he goes down. Sammy the Seal at Seaworld would be proud.

Klinsman could have won the World Championship in long jump, high jump and also the Oscar that year

He would have won the triple jump as well on that effort.

Do referees ever look at tapes and see how easily they are fooled? It would seem not.

The Rivaldo incident against Turkey was hilarious  .

This was Gilardino against Celtic in last season's champions league:

The dive was so bad it was comical.

Wouldn't you love to see a referee so doubled over in laughter that he could hardly get the card out of his pocket?

And only an English commentator would think to say that the dive looked posthumous.

It's not going to do much help, since the decision that was made on the field stands anyway....

If they start looking at tapes, they might as well do the same for bad offside calls, incorrect goal calls, fouls etc....

Soccer really needs to introduce major changes in regards to ref / linesman, I hope it's just a matter of time till they start using some sort of video technology :worship:

Too many important games get ruined by incorrect calls

Federer is against HawkEye, but he doesn't seem to mind when he uses it and get calls overturned....

Gilardino, what a disgrace to the fine Italian art of diving.:speakles:

These days the worlds best divers just aren't Italian anymore.:awww: A certain D. Drogba and his ex coworker A. Robben have taken over at the top.

Nonsense.

The smallest thing can change a game, it's not just offsides, penalties, whatever else....even something as small as awarding a corner when it should be a goal kick could change the course of a game if the team scores. Where do you draw the line on when you use the technology?

Most decisions in football are judgement calls, sometimes you can watch a replay 5 times and still be unsure. The game would get too slow if you referred every decision elsewhere. The only technology I would use is to decide whether the ball has crossed the line, nothing else.

Debates about refereeing decisions are one of the main things I love about football.

I didn't mean Instant Replays, that would be bad for soccer. I meant that surely referees look at their own games after the match and see how they did compared to what the cameras really saw.
And yes, how can linesmen go on and on flagging players on the basis of where they were when they RECEIVED the ball?

That was good, still prefered Klinsmann's. It was so bad it got the guy sent off in a World Cup final.

I saw that today too. When I saw this thread bumped there could only have been one reason. Absolute classic.

Here's another from disgusting French cheat Battiston:

I remember watching that way back in 1982...I thought Battiston lost some teeth on that occasion? Don't think he was faking it at least according to reports at the time.

Action Jackson

Henry is taking the piss, that was GBH by Schumacher and yes Battiston still suffers headaches and had vertebrae damage.
