RagingLamb 09-23-2007, 04:55 PM Wimbledon 2004, R128 Federer vs. Alex Bogdanovic (GBR): 1st serve %: 98% 6-3 6-3 6-0 0 aces, 0 double faults. probably not serving hard, but very impressive nonetheless. eve though it wasn't a 5 setter Or Levy 09-23-2007, 04:59 PM What was Rafa's first serve percentage in Hamburg? Similiar, wasn't it? Who else served close to 90% and still lost the match (All Dudi got to do is hold) Dudi is playing wonderfully, especially at the end - And Gonzo is tired. RickDaStick 09-23-2007, 05:05 PM Wimbledon 2004, R128 Federer vs. Alex Bogdanovic (GBR): 1st serve %: 98% 6-3 6-3 6-0 0 aces, 0 double faults. probably not serving hard, but very impressive nonetheless. eve though it wasn't a 5 setter This is incorrect. RagingLamb 09-23-2007, 05:10 PM This is incorrect. well, that's what it said on the atp website. that's my best source of knowledge, given I wasn't there myself recording numbers. World Beater 09-23-2007, 05:13 PM pim pim. i think he played blake somwhere and didn't miss a serve in one set. :scared: Billabong 09-23-2007, 05:14 PM He ended the match with 88%, and still lost:eek: 5 hours and 1 minute:yeah: RickDaStick 09-23-2007, 05:19 PM well, that's what it said on the atp website. that's my best source of knowledge, given I wasn't there myself recording numbers. Well that is what I looked at too and it also says Bogdanovic served at 97 %. Seriously what are the chances of seeing a match with a 98% and 97% 1st serves. RagingLamb 09-23-2007, 05:27 PM Well that is what I looked at too and it also says Bogdanovic served at 97 %. Seriously what are the chances of seeing a match with a 98% and 97% 1st serves. I know, it's shocking. You're right that maybe they screwed it up. For exmaple some older Wimbledon matches are said to have taken 2 minutes according to their stats. VolandriFan 09-24-2007, 12:55 AM Volandri always has a good first serve percentage. Not to compensate for anything of course :o El Legenda 09-24-2007, 01:03 AM 113% Burrow 09-24-2007, 01:40 AM I duno, honestly don't know what to believe nowadays with the scoreboards and statistics boards screwing up. bjurra 09-24-2007, 12:15 PM If the Gonzo - Sela stats are correct, the reason was probably Gonzo's shoulder hurting or maybe his head. I have seen Gonzo push in his first serves before and it's not a pretty sight. Giving Sela extra credit for winning under the circumstances is most likely wrong. | |
