Janko ran out of gas. Still, played very good to get to 2:1, managed some pretty difficult shots.
First serve was off the whole match, and it's a big aspect of his game.
He'll do better next time. :wavey:
I hope he'll have an injure free season this time, he was really unlucky there.

Tipsy just got lost during the 4th set and sadly he stayed lost til the end.

But i loved how Nole got pissed at the end of the match, grabbed the mic and started yelling "you need to root! this is Davis Cup, you need to root!" Even at the press conference after his match he subtly sent the message that the Aussies should be provoked by the audience cause (again) this is Davis Cup.
*sigh* we Serbs are just so full of manners that it's really hard for us to shake them off :unsure:

Well the audience was quite cold during the 4th set. Should have been more supportive, we're only loud when it's all going smoothly.
We need to help the player, not make him feel even more down.
Though I really hate it when there's yelling during service.

The pics on Yahoo showed some vichts and lawnmowers. Lleyton was in his element, a five-setter on hostile soil and on his worst surface. Perfect conditions to fire him up. :devil:

It's great to see how he's always there for the Davis Cup, really a loyal attitude, compared to some diva's who nag and moan (like Malisse for example).

It looked like he gave all of himself in the 3rd set, and then he just stopped playing. He didn't act like his rib or knee bothered him tho.

He has a point, we're a tough audience to please, and only cheer when everything's going swell for our side. We behave like that in all sports.

I remember that shot, it was in Moscow last year. It was amazing. :drool:

A shame that neither of the players could keep up a relatively good standard at the same time for most of the match. The third set was definitely the highlight of the match and both players did well to save break points at various stages so it was disappointing to see Tipsarevic's level drop that dramatically after that.

:lol: Yeah, I noticed that too. I hope he continues that trend and plays a five-setter against Djokovic. It's the fourth time in a row Hewitt has played a five-setter in Davis Cup singles. The last time was in the QF last year against Belarus when he beat Voltchkov in straight sets.

I hope he gets to a fifth set against Djoko too but I don't know if it will happen. He should have got that Wimbledon match to a fifth set but choked when serving for the fourth.:mad: :o Hopefully that doesn't weigh in his mind.

Djoke wouldn't stand a chance in five sets against Hewitt. If Hewitt plays in DC like he did against Fed in Cincy, then he stands a good chance of beating Fakervic.

Most of the time Janko can't even complete the match without taking injury timeouts or retiring.
