Says about 1st serve aces. Pim-Pim had 2 aces on 2nd serve, Roddick 1.

Strong showing by Andy! and good first match back for Pim Pim ... though it was very clear, despite the scoreline closeness, that he was never gonna get Andy today. 66 winners v. 11 unforced errors for the American.

Man, this court must be fast. Bodes well for Blake's chances as well.

Andy was unbreakable there, so the difference in match toughness proved decisive. Nice to see PimPim back, hopefully he stays healthy now.

Tough loss for Pimpim on his first big outing in recent months.

But great win for Andy --- why is he being taken to tiebreaks against an out of action Pimpim?

couldn't expect anything more from Pim Pim. I see this as a positive for him. Great serving, almost as many non-service winners as unforced errors, two close sets with Roddick. I hope he makes it back.

Not easy to play in form number 5 player after not being on tour since January 2007.

Result expected.

How is it that Joachim can play so well after being out for so long? From the news wire:
Roddick was not surprised Johansson, who fired 23 aces, played so well in his first competitive match since January.

"Last year he beat (Rafael) Nadal in the Stockholm Open in straight sets after just coming back from injury," said the American.

"He has a style of play that doesn't need much repetition for it to get effective or imposing."

:retard: Like in US Open 2004?
No. Like today, in Davis Cup. Welcome to 2007. :wavey:

Routine :yeah:

Andy made a good point in the interview that JJ isn't the type of player that needs matches to get back to his best. You don't need confidence to bang in the big serves and forehands. Last year he beat Nadal after being out for over a year.

Actually he played some futures (and a challenger if I'm not mistaken) before that tournament.

YOu idiot - its not the serving factor with roger v andy matches. Its rogers returning which kills him. Roger returns roddicks biggest serves.like in thier match this year when he returned a 140 mph serve for a winner

But I felt sorry for Pim Pim. I'm so glad to see him back. I thought he played well for having been off the tour for so long. Andy was more match tough and mentally stronger. But still   Pim. :)
