Pity for jez- Idiota! - Ljuba Truba , he wanted a Henman's victory over Ljuba Truba badly

What happened to him? :sobbing:

Really genuinely sorry this has happened...he would certainly have given the Croats a good shot at 2 points, and made the tie more competitive, at least on paper. The other 3 might still do something though.

He has an urinary infection.
How long does he need to recover?

Get well soon, Ljubo.

It will be a shame for the fans who bought tickets to the Great Britain v Croatia tie. The tie doesn't look anywhere near as appealing without Ljubicic.

I guess in a week he'll be as new
Nothing serious but still cant play this week.

Most likely, yes. But Roko is still dangerous, and he will certainly feel like he has nothing to lose given Croatia's squad situation.

Hopefully this takes the heat off GBR a bit.

But watching the match now on BBC, it looks like a tough tie with Murray having to fight.

Desperately bad luck for the Croatian team - now Croatia, will all respect to Cilic and Karanusic, are not even fielding a B team so Great Britain would be highly useless if they lost the tie now.

How do you figure this? Ljubo pretty much sucks on grass. Granted, he won a grass tourney this year, but it was a total joke of a MM tourney and didn't face any quality opponent. While Henman was a contender for Wimby title and Murray is a future potential of being the same.

I don't see what Ljubo would have done against Henman's S&V on grass. And Henman would probably have been extra motivated because of their H2H. As for Murray, he's totally unpredictable - might have lost to Ljubo but I still wouldn't exactly bet on that.

So Ljubo or no Ljubo, GB was favourite here anyway.

9-2 on grass this season...terrible

Look, I'm a fan of Ljubo, but those 9 were either low ranked or mugs on grass just the same. Better check out who he lost to, PHM and Mahut. 'Sucks' is a relative notion, he was at one point #3 in the world but I wouldn't consider him top 30 (or 50) on grass. Hence 'sucks'. And it was only meant in the context of his hypothetical match vs. Henman on Wimby grass.

I'm not saying he wouldn't stand a chance (he might have a great serving day for example) but saying that he would have won 2 points against Henman and Murray is most certainly pushing it. I'd give both of them the upper hand against him on Wimby grass.

Actually after the announcement most people were like "Ivan who?".

GB has had more than its fair share of injuries over the years.

A win would be a win...doesn't matter how it is done. :p

Besides, you guys should be proud of Cilic's effort on Friday. Had he kept his first set form up, he probably would have won.

Okay, Murray and Henman aren't playing all that well right now, but they are both better than the majority of those 9 players he beat on grass this year. ;)

I'm not saying that Ljubo would have lost to either of them, but he wasn't guaranteed two singles wins.

Yes, he played very well. He is definitely on my list of youngsters to keep an eye on. (He was almost on it after beating Tim at Queens)

It does sound quite serious actually.

Timbo even when he was overcome with emotion in his on court interview afterwards, the first thing he said was he wished Ljubicic well because that's much more important than a tennis match.

what an idiot that karlovic is, why cant he just make the peace with croatia?

because the captain doesn't wan't him. the tennis federartion were ready to accept his proposal but thanks to thier stupid captain.

Anbyway if you look at karlovic's last three years results at wimbledon.(all of them were 5 set defeats. )
i don't think it would have made any difference in this tie due to his presence.

That's exactly my point too. Nothing was guaranteed there, in fact, 1 point in two matches would be quite a good score for Ljubo there, on grass. Could just as well lose both matches.

OTOH, if Ancic was also healthy and in his mid-2006 form, without illness or injuries, I'd consider CRO to be strong favourite for that tie.

Ivan will go to Italy on Tuesday, there's some famous doctor, and he will be operated by a laser,if everything goes well,he should be back on court in a week :)
