Pray for Davydenko
Russia tennis player number one suffers from discomfort on one of his wrists and may not be able to face Germany at Davis Cup semifinals.
19-09 | 12:48 hs. It is still uncertain whether Nikolai Davydenko will play the series against the German team, which will take place from September 21 to 23 in Moscow.
According to the digital newspaper gazeta.ru, the Russian tennis player, who won Davis Cup last year, twisted one of his wrists and couldn’t keep on practising.
World number 4 had a similar injury last season which kept him away from the courts for several weeks.
In case Davydenko can’t play the Germans, the Russian team’s captain, Shamil Tarpischev, may use Mikhail Youzhny, Igor Andreev and Dmitri Tursunov.
The Russia-Germany semi-final will take place in Olimpiski stadium, the same place where last year the locals defeated Argentina 3-2 in the final, achieving for the second time in history the Silver Salad Bowl.
