At which Slam would you want to see Roger break the record?

In a perfect world scenerio, at which Slam would you like to see Roger break Pete's record? I started thinking about this as I was looking for articles and watching sports shows about the U.S. Open final, but it always gets buried by the football season starting. Don't get me wrong, I would be happy if it happens at any of them but IF he breaks it, I guess I would just like it to happen at a Slam that isn't overshadowed by football so he could get some decent press in the American media. My choice would be at Wimbledone because it is his favorite (and if we're really lucky it would be 2008)! I hope I'm not jinxing this, but I'm just curious.

 You'd hope if such a tremendous thing came to pass (Fed breaking Pete's record), it wouldn't be overlooked! But there you go, the press can get lopsided with national craze sports. Guess it's lucky then that the best possible scenario involves Roland Garros to tie...and Wimbledon to break it - now that'd be lovely ;). Here's hoping next year's the perfect year.

u mean to say roland garros will equal sampras record only... :)

i wish that roger
- equal sampras record at roland garros 2008 + achieve career grand slam
- break sampras record at wimbledon 2008 + break borg's record with 6 wimbly-in-a-row
- achieve calendar year grand slam with us open 2008 (or better still... first men's golden slam with olympics 2008 as well)

Either RG or Wimbledon would be ideal...so if he won RG and Wimbledon in 08...and then reached 15 at Wimbledon the following year, that would be awesome.
Or if he won Wimbledon and something else in 08...and then broke Pete's record at RG in 09.

Im not particularly fussed though in general...as long as he does it at somepoint...I'm sure it will be an unbelievable moment in tennis history regardless.

it would be great if roger can win australian open and RG to reach 14 grand slam, and break pete`s record in wimbledon, where it all started, and in pete`s favourite slam.

He will probably lose at RG again so I won't mind if he equals the record at Wimbly. If he does, it will already be an excellent year with two slams.
