I just couldn't resist - but the man deserves some support!!

Come on Tim! Pummel Blanco into his beloved clay dirt!! :haha:

Corey Feldman

bah the 1st set is hard, the worrying sign is blanco is not making any errors what so ever

tie break right now

oxy

timmy won 7-6 (7-3)

Horatio Caine
05-28-2004, 11:23 AM
Yeah - really high quality tennis. Henman has hit 8 aces already! Thats's what you'd expect from him in 2 matches! Great play Tim! ....................and first set Henman!!!! 7/6 (3) Come on Tim!!!

Horatio Caine
05-28-2004, 11:25 AM
10 aces! Goran look out - Henman is going for an ace record here!

Corey Feldman
05-28-2004, 11:28 AM
well thats good stuff, but i think its fair to say henman needed that set more than blanco, this blanco looks like he's got "wear you down" tennis on clay, the 1st set for tim is almost a bit of insurance, but tim needs to hurt blanco's serve a bit more than he did
keep it up timbo!!

Corey Feldman
05-28-2004, 11:29 AM
lol henmans broke whilst i was typing that last message

lovely jubbly :)

Horatio Caine

Yeah you're right - that first set was crucial. Had Henman lost it i think he would have been facing a mountain - climb.

Horatio Caine

13 aces!!! 3 more in 1 service game!! What is Henman on?!! :woohoo:

Corey Feldman

13 aces!!! 3 more in 1 service game!! What is Henman on?!! :woohoo:

yeeh!

well i was thinking that too, but i see blanco is 5'8 , so maybe tim is puting those big kickers over the lil guy's head ;)

Horatio Caine
05-28-2004, 11:35 AM
Come on!!! 3/0 and a double break! :woohoo:

How does this performance so far match up with his previous two matches Escude / Oxy? Is he playing better?

joeb_uk
05-28-2004, 11:36 AM
tim, hurry up and win! i want to see the safin-mantilla match finish! damn, i wish i didnt have british eurosport!

Corey Feldman
05-28-2004, 11:38 AM
well Jez

i have to say tim's serving in the 1st set was good, he made his usual double faults n stuff, but he was safe most of the time, the tie break was clinical and this 2nd set is awsome, but blanco is starting to get peeved with himself as well

Cool - if Tim bagels him then hopefully then this is the beginning of the end for Blanco in this match. However, i always expect a lapse from Tim but hopefully he won't lapse this time!

Horatio Caine

Corey Feldman

5/0!! man this is better than i could have expected right now!! :woohoo:

heh yeah

this is like one of those henman days when your wondering if its really happening, mind you at 5-0 40-0 it just went to deuce

so as you say, concentration needed :)

Horatio Caine
05-28-2004, 11:45 AM

Tim is playing very good tennis for the moment. He has never been as good in his career.

Horatio Caine
05-28-2004, 11:46 AM
what! 40/0 up and 3 set points and he is broken! What on earth happened there!

Corey Feldman
05-28-2004, 11:47 AM
ok, well 5-1 now from 40-0, if he's gonna get the stupid henman like concentration thing out the way..........5-0 up is the time to do it

tim might be playing that well, that he wants to break for 5-1 in the set, so he can begin serving in the 3rd!

Marrahorra
05-28-2004, 11:48 AM
oh cheers... escude, that's just what happened.. Set point blown,

Tim seems to have a rubbish record of serving out sets in big matches.

Can't do it against Roddick in the US Open, again against Roddick in Paris Bercy, and now here, he has a set point chance for his second bagel of the tournament!!

Horatio Caine

I think any way he can win this set is fine! I am afraid that Blanco could come all the way back. After all, he hasn't given away many free points has he?

Corey Feldman
05-28-2004, 11:49 AM
its cool jez, the 2nd set is safe, for sure :) blanco just hit at the ball in a last ditch effort to avoid the dreaded bagel, i can see from his body language after the game, he doesnt have any hopes of winning the match

At this point bagels don't matter - they're good but they aren't important! Tim needs to win no matter what!

Corey Feldman

henman 7-6 6-1, need i say more :)

Horatio Caine
05-28-2004, 11:50 AM
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesss!!! Don't let him back in Tim don't let him back in!!!

Nope! :)

Corey Feldman

i know i might sound like an "arrogant henman fan" but i honestly believe he lost that 5-0 40-0 game on purpose, just so he could break for 6-1 and serve 1st all the way in the third set

blanco looks ready to throw in the towel

Horatio Caine
05-28-2004, 11:52 AM

That is encouraging to hear! What is it with Tim that is making players give up! Burgsmuller gave up and now Blanco! He must be in the form of his life on clay!

Horatio Caine
05-28-2004, 11:55 AM
What has happened to Tim's serve now?!! Before he was holding serve with relative ease and now he is about to broken second straight time

Corey Feldman
05-28-2004, 11:56 AM
true, but as we speak blanco has suddenly found a little spurt from somewhere , 0-40 damn

no worries tho, tim has a nice 2 set lead regardless

Corey Feldman
05-28-2004, 11:58 AM
i think blanco, since going 6-7 0-5 down has decided to just take a real swing at everything, its working so far... 1-0 pfft!

wakey wakey timothy :)

Marrahorra
05-28-2004, 12:01 PM
well my point was that another bagel would boost tim's confidence further...

and failing to serve out the set was bad, as he now has lost serve twice in the match in the space of three games!

but blanco surely doesn't have enough belief to get back in it with the kind of year he has had

Corey Feldman
05-28-2004, 12:04 PM
tim breaks back, but blanco is beginning to find some hurting returns that he didnt have in the first 2 sets

Marrahorra
05-28-2004, 12:13 PM
well hopefully tim can kill this off if he makes it to 4-1 with a hold

please no drama in R3 anymore!!

Corey Feldman
05-28-2004, 12:18 PM
damn i have to go as well

what a tinme to need to leave

later all! finish him tim!

Excellent win.

Marrahorra
05-28-2004, 12:26 PM
congrats tim... thru to the fourth round of the French... now he has made it to the second week of all 4 grand slams

looks like he would meet chela (big lead over corretja at the moment), if both win their R16 match...

fingers crossed he keeps the form up

:wavey: Is there where everyone was?! I was down in the live scores thread and no one else was there! :)

Well Tim played very well. I said in the live scores thread, even on clay no one will look forward to playing Tim on this form.

He plays Llodra in round 4, so that's a winnable match, but one at a time Tim :)

It's definitely winnable but it is going to be more challenging than the last meeting they had at wimbledon. Llodra has improved as a player since then and his form in this year's French Open has been excellent too. Plus he is an excellent doubles player and will want to get to the net too. I wouldn't be surprised if Llodra shocked Tim but if Tim keeps this form up then he will get to the quarters and will be too good for Chela too!

I really hope the BBC or Eurosport show the match on Sunday.. British Eurosport should be able to over-ride the stupid cycling... no excuses, cos there is no highlights program,

And surely the Beeb would disrupt their schedule to show tim cos he has such a huge chance of making the quarters of a slam outside Wimby for the first time (and this is no Woodruff or Bjorkman, this is a part-time singles player... how big a chance can u ask for???)

Corey Feldman
05-28-2004, 08:01 PM
if you look at llodra in singles this year, he's winning alot of matches....not lost before the Qf YET, altho a few of em challengers mind you

the toughest part for tim in this match is, french players seem to be playing superb tennis infront of there home fans this event, tim will need to serve well again

The two pluses for Henman are his good record against lefties and a good record against fellow netrushers. Tim likes a target and passes pretty well.

Corey Feldman
05-28-2004, 11:14 PM
another interesting little bit

llodra is coached by guillermo raoux, who was a pretty "decent" pro at the back end of the 90's, henman drubbed him on many occasions, so hopefully the tactics raoux used v tim in all those matches can be passed onto llodra! :)
