Good job Tommy!

The Spanish hockey team was supporting him as well as Virginina Ruano.

Pretty good match, btw.

I couldn't watch the first set, but it seemed to be an overall good and intense battle with very good points and of course some poor ones as well. The first set was 75 minutes.

Robredo with the better nerves at the end. As the match went into the final stages and Kiefer had to serve to stay in the match, he already had 0-30 at *4-5 which he could save once, but then later faced 0-40 in the 12th game as well and ended it with a double fault.

Not only this, his game lacked the needed precision in this stage, Robredo used poor approaches to pass him, Kiefer framed too many shots on his backhand side and you could see he tightened up overall as his ball toss became also inaccurate. He had to retoss a few too many times.

He isn't there yet to decide such situations more often in his favour, but his overall display this week beating the opponents he could beat and showing a good match in this one made some hope.

i would say the bigger fighter has won

Even though I'm no fan of Robredo, got to say this was a well-deserved victory for him. Kiefer played well, but just not good enough on the big points.

Way to go, Tommy! Watching that livescore was nerve wracking, but watching that 0-40 for match point was great.:)

Good stuff from Tommy. I didn't know what to expect from this match, but he abolished all doubt. Looks like the form has returned and "Boredo" will be back in the top 10, like it or not :ras:

A lot of moonballing defense from Robredo today. Kiefer had to hit a lot of smashes from the baseline.

Kiefer just made too many ue's in crucial moments. He missed bps at 4-3 in the first and 6-5 in the second.

For me the highlight of the match was early in the first set, when Robredo missed a smash (I think even missed the ball with his racket).

Close win for Robredo.
