Obviously the Nadal and Federer fans are too lazy! Andy is talented in his own way, but I would not say he is more talented than the Top 3 currently.

I think he's more talented than people give him credit for. I mean he is in the top5 and has been for a while. Also if he didn't have his serve he would have probably developed something else.

I dislike threads that are set up just to bash Andy. Discuss his tennis -- fine. Criticize him even for his lack of improvement in some aspects of his game. But I don't get the pointless bashing.

Of course he is a talented player. I'm shocked that that is being questioned. No he is not more talented than Roger but that is true of all of the ATP tour minus Nadal. That does not mean that Andy is lacking in talent!

But the poll said to vote for the most talented player. If it was ''Who has talent?'' and people voted Roddick I'm sure a lot of posters wouldn't mind. But the fact that Roddick got more votes than Federer for ''most talented'' is what baffles most.

I used to hate Roddick and still don't like him. But I would have to admit that Roddick is a great player. People forget that he was once the number one player in the world. He peaked the year Federer won Wimbledon and he won the US Open. He even beat Federer that year either in Cinci or Montrel, which was the main reason he ended the season as number one and not Federer.

He keeps working hard and challenging Federer and that is a sign of a champion. Being number 4 in men's tennis these days is very impressive feat. Roddick is having a great tennis career IMO.

Talent...I'm sorry not over a lot of people. He's talented in the serve. That came natural but he's had to really work to get the other skills.

I think Nadal is talented but not more than Federer. Federer has just too many natural skills for that to be true. Nadal is more talented than Roddick I guess but he too has to work hard at other parts of his came that just was there for Federer.

Nadal has 5 years to catch up. Federer is 26, Nadal is 21.

Also Federer won many of his slams against weaklings like Roddick, Hewitt and company. In the weakest tennis era in a while.

If I had to give a non bias estimate. I would say 10 Grand Slams.

I wish he could get 15 but his hard court play needs to change for him to have even a slim chance.

Best Estimate:

7 RG
2 Wimb

I agree but, mental fortitude and work ethic are in themselves great talents. Ball striking ability, timing, racquet head speed/control, and shot making prowess aren't the only talents in tennis, even if they are the most entertaining for you to watch. ;)

No chance at 18-24.

If he vastly improves his game and thinking patterns on hardcourts then he has an outside chance at 15 slams.

However, a reasonable estimate for Nadal is 10 slams.

Roddick has the biggest weapon in tennis?

No. He is not the best server in tennis, not anymore.

Players like Karlovic and Isner are definately better. Ljubicic has been far from his best, but is still firing more aces than Roddick.

I wouldn't be surprised if passed Roddick as the best American server in the next couple of years.
