Federer at his best

I've seen a lot of threads about the fact that Federer isn't playing his best tennis anymore (he has become more passive).
So I went to youtube and I found some clips where you get to see federer at his best.

As you may notice he hits his forehand with alot more pace in those video clips than he does these days.

I think he has become less eratic, other aspects of his game have improved alot, his serve and backhand, his forehand has always been fantastic.

That match against Blake was, in actual fact, quite close despite the straight sets scoreline, I thought Blake would have levelled it at one set a piece but lost that second set tie break.

What I saw was much better movement from Fed in 2004. That IMO is why his forehand doesn't have that kind of pace anymore. He is not getting into optimal positions to hit the forehand nowadays.
