Looking at the way he is playing, he looked like he was playing the clay courters game of defensive game with some offense like Nadal does. I think since the french open he has changed his game so he better prepare himself to win the French next year. If you notice before the french he used to come to the net more and was more agressive, then as soon as the french ended he started staying more behind the base line much like Nadal does with some occasional agression.

He is preparing to own Nadal in 08 Clay season

hmm. Well if anyone could do it, probably would be Federer. But still...I'm going to have to see it to believe it.
Owning Rafa on Clay will require something very special.

BTW - I disagree about him not caring about the AO or USO...he still cares (albeit unequally) about all the Slams. Wimbledon is the most important - then maybe winning the French (though he doesnt admit this). And then apparently continuing his run in NYC.

No, it's his normal game :shrub: . Besides, he wouldn't start such preparartions on the fastest court here, I'd rathere believe in such thing if it's AO or plexipave US courts

He's a lot less aggressive than he used to be and only occasionally turns it on. There weren't that many power FH"s looking for the lines yesterday.

I don't think this is indicative of any preparation for the French. He's not going to be beat Nadal at RG playing that way.

Do you think Nadal's knee troubles could extend to clay season? That's really NOT something I'd like to happen, since the tour would be really much more dull without having Rafa on clay.
