It's very good to have a little bit quite strong draw so every match is important one and you don't lose today - how you say - when you have easy draw, you can lose to anybody. But once you have a strong draw, you motivate yourself. So you start to play automatically well. -Marat Safin

Agassi had already lost when Safin said this; now Roddick lost his 2nd rd. match in what was considered a favorable draw, and Spadea didn't take advantage when the draw opened for him.

It will be interesting to see who else self destructs in favorable conditions.

Who do you think has an easy draw they have/could possible F@#k up?

Safin is lucky that Fabrice isn't in his section of the draw

Safin got pretty lucky himself when Calleri had to retire.

i'll agree that marat had it easy with calleri. hope he doesn't get too complacent for today's match. but i don't think he's likely to underestimate mantilla.

and fabrice.....ahem..... hahahahaha.... right...let's hope they don't meet too often. i'm amazed at the number of times they've met.

an easy draw is not a good thing indeed. it drives the players not much care for the matchs and when the match is somewhat difficult, they begin to be snappish, even lose the match. so I'd rather marat had a tough draw to make himself be more motivated!
