:worship: the legend of Nelson Montfort, this man is the epitome of cool and stylish.

He is the French guy who does the RG interviews and I think he speaks Spanish as well as French and English and he is the man.

Also saw the man in Osaka doing some interviews with the athletes in the mix zone. Didn't hear what the man had to say this time around, but he deserves appreciation.

Allez Nelson

Count me first on the list of those who love that guy. I've met him this year in RG and he was lovely. Just simple, close to ppl, almost shy. :p

Glad to hear that Nelson was pleasant to people who came up to him, it would be good if he came out to Australia.

Nelson has fans and here's one of the numerous encounters. Enjoy how simple the guy remains...and how sincerely he seems to be touched.

:haha: Nelson and his 4minutes question
A legend :worship:
 once his question to Michael Johnson was so long, Michael left without answering.

Nelson is a true legend here. :worship: He is also a figure skating commentator (with Candeloro), his dad is American and he has a picture of Bill Clinton and himself (from the time Bill went to the Grosjean-Agassi match) in his kitchen.

I met him a few times at RG and here is a pic I took this year

Thanks for that bit Saumon about Nelson's dad being American and that is one of the highlights seeing the mop of hair interviewing the athletes after their competitions.

One of his great moments was when Chang won Roland Garros. In his victory speech he thanked Jesus and Nelson translated "I want to thank my friend Luigi" :tape:

Great bump :worship:

The winter olympics with him and Candeloro doing the commentaries are always the highlights of my years :worship:

Did anyone catch his interviewing the Monfils family during today's match :spit: He started saying what a lovely moment it was to watch Gael's match behind his charming family before the father turns around and tells him how pissed off they were at some of the things that were said about his son :rolls:
Nelson then stuttered and said "I can assure you we all love Gael this is just a misunderstanding" he was so embarassed

He's been pushing Rafa in the oncourt interviews to call RG his second home or making him choose between Spain and France, but Rafa's not really taking the bait

Nelson :D

Though his translations are sometimes completely wrong :o

Love his duet with Candéloro. Candéloro being the dumb redneck and Nelson the articulate gentleman. Makes figure skating less boring

too much sugar and sweetness make me nauseous. :sobbing: and at the same time he can be so tactless the Nelson.

well sometimes I feel sorry.... it's so embarassing... last time it was at the end of the match Federer def. Benneteau... Montfort jumped on Roger and -no congrats, no nothing... his first question was directly "What do you think of Julien, tell us Roger, he is good no?" Roger was so surprised :speakles: "ah he aawww errrr hmmm a baba bebe bb... well, he is good"

Good to see a thread about Nelson.

Thankfully he didn't chose to work in the international fiscal law as he was supposed to do as a student and we share a common point here.

Better to see him having problem to catch players in order to itw them. A good stuff this year was when he tried to itw Nadal after his match but only managed to fish Corretja to talk about Rafa whereas Alex was trying to do his own job in front of the spanish cams.

Julien Doré's going out with Louise something, who does the funny weather forecast thingy on canal +.

Anyway, about our dear Monfort, I remember thinking he was a little silly, then i remember he made sampras cry asking several question about his coach (i think  ) who died some time before, and i detested him for being so tactless... :( but then he grew on me again

thought i'd bump this thread cause i just read a new kind of rose was given his name. :haha:
