Hmmm, a tough time with Karlovic on clay?? :confused: :o . Thats never a good sign. I'm sorry, but considering the limited rest he'll have, he'll probably lose later, maybe even in straights. If youre playing well, and rested, you wouldent be pushed by Ivo on clay!! :eek:

I'm not so sure. I haven't seen the match but with the way Rosset has been playing, it seems as if the clay is playing quite fast over there, combine that with the altittude the balls are really flying. So it's not that surprising actually.

By the way, as much as I would love Rogi to win on home soil, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing in the long run if he were to lose- he would get the extra few days rest which he really needs. Even Federer can't go on like some machine, he needs to take a break!

Impressive on the 50 matches, I think the ATP mislead us a bit when they call it the "fastest". It is probably the fewest matches played to get there (54), but I bet it's not the fastest. Pete Sampras had won 7 tournaments before Roland Garros in 1994, so I suspect he may have done it more quickly than Roger.

You're right jtipson, Sampras had his 50th win at Wimbledon 1st round in 1994.

Well, if they call Coria "El Mago", Roger Federer is GOD and that's still an understatement sometimes if you think it over what he did in the last weeks, this season already.


what an awesome achievement, breezing through the Halle tournament, winning a title there almost passing by, going to Wimbledon, defending a GRAND SLAM title and right the next days making the transition to from grass to clay and finally winning a best of five final to win three tournaments in a row on two different surfaces.
