I get all worked up and paranoid about a game too, but it's definitely fun to play in the evenings (and to comment on a game and give advice, even though I dislike people doing it to mine :p)

I used to play a lot, even had a top 20 ranking for under-11 age group in Scotland, but then I gave up and really haven't played much since....

I want to smash some asses :devil: I take classes at school and i am 100% adicted to it. :devil: :haha:

Used to play in high school, but not much anymore.

Should play online when I have some time.

Anyone follow chess like tournaments?

It has been awhile since I last played, but I am quite good at chess.

I don't play chess myself, but I follow the tournaments - my friend is a very good chess player, even used (or tried) to live on chess when he was younger, and we sometimes still go to international tournaments, etc. So I have no clue of the game, but I follow the results, I read the articles, the interviews...
Chess players are pretty funny people. The Toiletgate last year was great entertainment.

My chess interest waxes and wanes. ;) It's very sporadic. I'd play several games in a day and be all competitive and then I'd go over a year without playing. :lol:

I think I'm an ok player but if you're any good I'm just dead meat. :p

I like to believe I play chess very well,I wanted to join the chess club,but there were all men in there,so I backed off,and now I`m a home player...:)

I don't mind the odd game of chess but prefer checkers.

I won a national championship in third grade, was 2000 when I was 11 and peaked at about 2200, but I stopped playing when I was 15. I play a little for fun occasionally on the Internet Chess Club (about 2300 blitz).

I used to play in club tournaments up till 2000 but now only play blitz (5 minute games) and occasionally rapid games. (25 minute) I still follow chess news and yes, Vassily Ivanchuk rules.

I played a little bit(ok very little :p ) when I was younger but I was utter crap.:p Now I have to much respect for the game to even start playing again.:o

To sum it up, blitz is fast chess. Around 5 minutes per side, sometimes with a small time increment per move.

Ivanchuk has been on fire lately, winning a couple of good tourneys in a row.

Too bad he is not going to the World Championships which I am pissed off about.
