He's doing much better now that he has two sets under his belt.

I'm a little annoyed that the SF will be on Saturday... whoever wins them from the bottom half will be at a disadvantage, since I'm sure Federer will play first.

Nole and Moya have always had to play the latest matches.

What is with Nole this tournament? He's so pissy. :p

He is, I have to think it's the pressure

Nole needs some spanking on all the pouting on court. Yes, there is pressure, there is expectation, BUT it's no excuse for all those behaviours. I know JMac mello a lot over the year but if he gave negative comment about this behaviour, Nole better learns fast.

wtf I submitted that second post first :rolls:

It happened to me in Premium forum the other day too.

You're lucky. I started hugging my dog's stuffed monkey.

Nole is definite the favorite, as I think Ferrer will be much more nervous. But we need to be ready for an absolute battle, because Ferrer would definitely not go down without a fight.

Ferrer is on fire and very confident right now. Chela didn't put up much fight and tired him out today. If Nole plays like the first 2 sets vs Moya and Monaco, he will be in big trouble.

It was much longer than the usual on-court interview. So long that Nole asked Barkan if he wanted to sit down and have a cup of coffee. I don't have it on tape to go back and transcribe it so hopefully someone will post it on youtube. :)

Chela was overpowering Ferrer in the third set and it worked until he started to tire so I think Nole needs to play really offensively on Saturday.

After winning a point, he walked to the umpire and complained about the audience shouting.

It's not just a Croatian thing.. it's the same verb.

Someone Serbian correct me if I'm wrong... but I *think* saying "ajde" is like telling someone singular "GO!" where as "ajmo" is like.. plural "let's go"

Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce.

Facing a set point in a tight tiebreaker in the US Open quarterfinals Thursday night, Novak Djokovic kept dribbling the ball, bouncing it 28 times in all.

Eventually, he tossed the ball overhead -- and hit a fault. Djokovic cut his total to 13 bounces, hit a 113 mph second serve, and won the point, part of a 6-4, 7-6 (7), 6-1 victory over Carlos Moya to reach a third consecutive Grand Slam semifinal.

"This is just a matter of concentration. I'm trying to really focus and not irritate anybody. Sorry if I'm a bit annoying," Djokovic said. "The thing is, I want to stay longer on this court, so that's why I'm bouncing more and more."
:haha:

NEW RECORD!!!!

Novak is the youngest ever in the Open Era to make 3 consecutive Slam semis.

The previous record holder was Sampras---21 years, 159 days (to the start of the tournament).
Novak was 20 years, 97 days at the start of the US Open.

He broke the record with more than a year to spare!!!

Others who did it under 23 years old...

Courier 21 years, 279 days
Becker 21 years, 279 days
Borg 22 years, 84 days
Connors 22 years, 110 days
Safin 22 years, 151 days
Edberg 22 years, 357 days

The rest...Federer, Lendl, Wilander, Roche, Vilas, McEnroe, Agassi, Ashe, Laver, and Rosewall.
