Do you have a own tennis court?

just wondering if here are any people who have an own tennis court on their piece of real estate?

I think it would be quite fun to have a big garden and much of room around my house and then build a tennis court ;)

but I don't know how much it would cost and as I'm not earning (enough) money yet that is only a dream right now...

but maybe I will build one, some time, some time.... ;)

anyone has an idea how much a tenniscourt (claycourt or hardcourt) would cost?

I WISH!!!

My room is about the size of the serving box...

My home owner association has 2 tennis courts (hard court) for residence living in the area. About 1 1/2 years ago, the 2 tennis courts and the basketball court were resurfaced and cost US$14,000. It will be higher to build the court as you also need fencing around tennis court. Also, this is in US (and the cost will vary even in US) so I'm not so sure in Germany.

The closest to me is a local swim club that has two courts, but I prefer to go to the big club dowtown, which has two hard (one indoor, one outdoor), two clay (One indoor one outdoor), and two carpet (both indoor). I will not post how much it cost to get into there, but let's just say it is worth it to play on three different surfaces, though technically, the outdoor ones are a different experience as well.

My aunt has one, on green clay:)! When we have family reunions and parties there, it's always fun to go there and play:D!!!

Domino, I think indoor carpet is an awesome good surface!!!
I would say it is my favorite surface of all. I even go playing on them in summer when the sun is shining, so much I like them.
I also have a tennis court nearby that is carpet indoor with little resins (granulate) on it, quite fast, very fast.

lol, another dream of me would be to let me build a tennis hall with such a indoor carpet surface so that I could play on my own court no matter if winter or summer  but too expensive :o

I've once asked my parents to build a tennis court in the garden, but they say it's not worth the money since I cannot play tennis :p

I have never ever seen a green claycourt with my own eyes in reality. I've never seen one in Germany so far.

BTW, who in here has ever played on grass? (not me!)

lol as I asked my parents that they thought I'm crazy

I'm only a hobby player, I'm not playing for a club or something like that, but I would say I'm at least average and tennis is a great sport to play I think and so it would be to have a own tennis court some time

Actually my parents thought I was just joking, since I asked for a swimmingpool too :p

I used to play when I was 6 years old, but I was not really good (actually I was very bad :p) so I did stop playing after a few years. I would like to start playing again, but on the other hand, there's a lot I want :p

my granny has a massive garden, but she won't let me build a tennis court on the bottom, she also turned own my request for a swimming pool  :p

Don't own a tennis court, my apartment is the size of a shoebox. But it's only a ten minute walk to where they used to play the Australian Open. Not fussed... except for the overpriced membership fees.

I'm lucky enough to have a tennis court at home. It's absolutely great. We got it about when I was 7 so thats about 9 or 10 yrs ago. I'm not sure how much it cost, I'll have to ask my dad but I suppose the price has gone up since then.

No, but I am roughly one block (.25 miles) within walking distance of 5 hard courts so they are pretty good.

LOL.. I am not even beginning to ask. Not that there is any room either ;) We have a court here near our flat, but it's not of great quality, though it's ok. It's some sort of hardcourt, without a net at some times ;)

I wish I was able to have a court at home, but there are some community ones near us, though the tennis centre is not too far either.

My old house in England…. Court right opposite our house. It was privately owned but if I walked their dog on the beach in the morning I was allowed the use of it.

There’s an outdoor clay court about 5mins walk from where I live atm which is quite handy but the weather in Scotland is pretty diabolical so I don’t often use it.

Have to say I’ve been terribly lucky in that respect.

Neely I miss you! Where are you??!! :(

Oh dare I say you have some great public courts in friar park round here...thats if you like half the net missing and huge holes and dog poo on the court, luckily a friend of mine belongs to a rather lush leaisure centre with indoor facilities and has said he will sign me in :)
