Kim and Lleyton always seem to have a different answer to your question, so no one's really sure! (or if they are they haven't shared it with me :p) And as far as I know...they haven't had any break-ups, but somebody else here might have heard otherwise
hope that helps :)

If I'm not mistaken there is only one story of how they got together. There are many stories of how they first met :p

Kim used to always say that at the 2000 Australian Open her sister Elke wanted to have Lleyton's autograph. So Kim being the great big sis that she is :p went and got the autograph from Lleyton..they started to talk and hit it off I suppose :p I believe a couple of months later at the Miami tournie they were sort of officially dating.

They've been together ever since. No break ups that I ever heard of.

yes, I think so, too!!! :yeah: :) :)
:hearts:

another fact I know is that Kim once was asked (should be already over year ago) at a press conference when was the first time she saw Lleyton. Then she answered something that she saw him the first time when she was a little girl around 12 years-old at junior tournaments. But she didn't talk to him so early because she was too shy.

well, actually they found together later :D

That's also the 'story' that was told during the 'love game' some weeks ago (by the commentator). That Kim went to ask an autograph from Lleyton for Elke and that they ended up sharing mobile numbers & sending some sms's and then started dating. This commentator also said there are seldom or never any problems between the two of them and that they saw each other very often during the year.

Haven't heard of any break ups either.

I think I also read a story somewhere on this board or over at CCL that Kim was invited by Lleyton to Pat Rafters party. Don't know if they were officially dating at that time???

No they weren't dating officially cause according to the story Kim didn't realize Lleyton was asking her out on a date :p Kim was a fan of Pat Rafter (she had his poster in her room :o ) so she figured that's why Lleyton asked her to go to Pat's party :p

This thread is making me all teary, LOL!

I also heard Chesty's version, though I think maybe she WAS asking for an autograph for Elke at the time that Lleyton asked her to Pat's party. Though if you believe Lleyton's mother it's pretty unlikely he ever got up the courage to ask her out by himself - she must have dropped a hint!

don't always believe mothers's opinions - they sometimes have strange ideas regarding their sons :p

LOL, yes I'm sure. Another Lleyton's mother anecdote involves her having no qualms about him coping with playing Agassi at age 15 (or whatever) but being very concerned he would freak out when she realised he had to give a speech!

Thank you so much for clearing this out!! Wasn't sure about it anymore and I didn't have time to go and look for the post.

Ah, so he had already seen this poster up in her room, hé??? ;-) (just kidding!!)

Hi All!

Here's an excerpt from a Lleyton interview by the Guardian Newspapers, June 13, 2004. :)

"I had to hang around until the very end because Kim made it through to the semis and she was in the doubles as well. So I ended up watching the men's final on TV in London - only because Mark Philippoussis was playing. I didn't enjoy it."

There will be no such torture this year. The injured Clijsters will be a mere spectator rather than a contender. She will also come to Wimbledon as Hewitt's fiancée after he proposed to her just before Christmas "on a boat in Sydney Harbour. I kinda knew she was going to say yes but it was very cool."

Hewitt's candour and unexpected warmth envelopes his conversation, whether he is addressing the flaws in his tennis ("not enough cheap points on my serve, mate") or celebrating the wonder of the Adelaide Crows and Aussie rules football ("best sport in the world, mate"). Yet he is at his most endearing when talking about Clijsters. "I first spoke to Kim at the Australian Open in 2000. I don't want to sound like I was hunting her down but I really liked her. At the Open we ended up at the same table with a girl I knew from the juniors. We started talking and, boy, that was it."

While Hewitt is entertaining when describing their fantastically ostentatious new house in Adelaide - featuring an indoor cinema and an outdoor waterfall - he is positively earnest when stressing that, "at home we just like chilling together. We'd love a little more privacy but, apart from being recognised all over Australia, we're kinda big news in Belgium! But we don't like the limelight like most famous couples. We prefer to be normal because attention should only be on us when we're out on the court. That's where we shine in public. The rest belongs to us."
