NicoFan
07-30-2007, 04:26 PM
All the qualifying matches are completed.

Since the ATP doesn't think it's important to provide up to date info on anyone except Fed or Rafa, we might not find out who Nico is playing until the OOP comes out.

But it is between Pashanski, Patience, Darcis , or M. Gonzalez.

kidnicky
07-30-2007, 04:42 PM
I'm really confused now ... supossly Pashanski won already and he's on the sb vs Cuevas again :haha:

I hope it is .... let's see if thinking this way we don't get him :rolls: ... nahhh I better shut up and don't say a single word :tape:

NicoFan
07-30-2007, 04:44 PM

like I've been thanking to a girl from the tournament she keeps posting for me news about Nico  .... I'm still laughing, this is some from saturday :p ... and Nico was making the draw

Anyways, a very funny draw ceremony today. Massu and Przysiężny were the lucky ones to be there. Asked about whom does he want to play Przysiężny said: Kubot...
We couldn't help expressing our happines when Kubot was left for Robredo

Massu and his coach/sparingpartner got lost twice today and didn't know how to get back to the hotel. It's their first time in Sopot and on the weekends there are plenty of tourists so it wasn't easy to find the way :P
Poor Nico and Gaby

Darcis breaks Nico to win.

Why didn't Nico come to DC??? If he was going to lose in the first round, at least he would have had some hardcourt time. Now he's going to Cincy cold with no hardcourt time under his belt.

I'm so tired of this. Tired of these losses and tired of these decisions. :( Sopot...great idea.

NicoFan
07-31-2007, 06:02 PM
Me too Kid - I thought Nico was going to win this here after the first set. Then to have 2 mps and not get them. :bigcry: Everything is a mess. And on top of it, he's going home. Wow...that will prepare him for hardcourt season well. And instead of getting a good week's work on hardcourts, he's going to qualifying in Cincy rather than go to the Bronx challenger. Totally hard field, he'll be lucky to win one match so another week wasted.

It's gone from bad to worse to a complete nightmare with one bad decision after another, and he has no confidence at all - even when the match is in his hand, he can't win.

07-31-2007, 06:07 PM
what the hell, I'm going to the bathroom since the make up it's starting to go away with the f*cking tears that I'm tired to be handling with them every week

where the f*ck is the bright side in the darness that everyone says all the time!?!?!

LOVELY
07-31-2007, 06:07 PM
Nico fought hard and I'm proud of him. It's much better than last week believe me...I'm sad but not dissapointed at all by him and if he decided to go back home it's probably because he really needs to have a short break to see his family...He's way from home for quite a long time now.
And he's still in double with my GG this week ;)

NicoFan
07-31-2007, 06:16 PM
The problem is Lovely that he doesn't need to be in the doubles - doubles doesn't do him any good right now except to relax a bit - and I doubt that even because I'm sure that he doesn't care about doubles - he just wants his singles game back again.

And I realize that he's been away from home for a long time. But it's at a bad time for him to go home. He's got QF points in NH and the US Open is the one big tournament he actually has done well at. Who will he practice with in Chile??? No one is there - Fernando, Paul, Adrian - they are all in North America getting ready for hardcourt season. So he's going to go to Cincy cold - which means another first round loss in qualifying.

I'm proud of him to for fighting. But he's been working hard for a long time and nothing comes of it.

I feel really bad for him - I would have quit by now. I wouldn't keep doing this. But I know that he loves the game, and I know that he's so close to a lot of the guys on the tour. So he won't quit like I would have a long time ago, and eventually hopefully things will start to look up for him. But right now, it's a nightmare and totally painful to see this happening to him.

Clear as water that he lost this match after wasting 2 matchpoints. This guy has no self-confidence, so much opportunities, he can't take advantage of it again and again. Nico!

A break is necessary.

NicoFan
07-31-2007, 06:22 PM
A break is necessary - but Nico needs a long break, not just a week. A week again which is at the wrong time.

I'd rather see him push hard for hardcourt season and then take a break. Screw indoor season - take a couple months off, go away in the mountains and clear his head, and then start at the end of November training for next year.

Must have lost heart in the 3rd. And he had 2 mps? Obviously he can win he just can't muster that extra whatever to do it anymore. A break, though badly timed right now, may help.

I know you do.

But with all due respect , I'd like to see him now and again too. I think this is a lot of my frustration right now with him going home. Selfish yes - but after watching live tickers (which don't work half the time) for an entire year, I'd like to see Nico once in person. The last time I saw him was 11 months ago. And to see him spend his entire season in Europe is beginning to make me want to cry - nice for you, but not nice for anyone else who roots for Nico. He spends all of the spring, all of the summer, and all of the fall in Europe. And when he comes ot the US, he gets frustrated on hardcourts, gives up, and is gone before I can blink my eyes. I'm tired of it. And then he talks about how he loves NY - well he must just love the City to party in because he sure as heck doesn't seem to love the tournament when he's there. All he does is complain and say he wants to go home. What really makes me crazy is that he could be an excellent hardcourt player - he has the game for it, if we could just drag him out of Europe and off the clay for one minute.

NH is where he has points to defend.

I was so excited to see him - now I'll be lucky to see him a couple of times.

And I might as well sell my tickets for the US Open for the second weekend cuz he'll be long gone back to Chile by then. What a waste of money. And I doubt that I'll see him much the other days. Because his ranking is so low, he'll have to practice on courts outside of the tournament site...difficult to find the guys when they are out there so I won't see him then. And I start my teaching job that week so I miss the first Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - so won't see him then.

you should make a petition that the USO series should be played on clay  ... you don't want to see any of the americans so what's the point?!? :rolls:

I'm kidding but you know that I understand you, I only have one freaking tournament a year, and it's the tournament when he always have doubts about if he comes or not and the worst thing, it's far away from where I live, I probably have to spend more hours traveling than what Lovely spends going to all the tournaments in Europe

I would love the US Open to be played on clay. :yeah:

I do like Andy, but they can keep the rest of the American players. Andy though is a funny sweetpie.

I go crazy listening to the Europeans on GM complaining that the US has too many tournaments. I'm always like WTF???? The whole fucking year is played in Europe practically!!!!!!!! What do they want every freaking tournament??? And it takes like 3 hours to go from London to Madrid. Hellllooooo...takes me 6 hours to go from the Northeastern part of the US to LA. It's not like I can just wake up one morning and say - hey!!! I think I'll just zip over to LA and go to the tournament there. :haha: Or IW right outside of LA. Even Miami is a 2 1/2 hour flight.

I'm going to check out Nico's schedule after dinner. I will bet just from memory that he played like 80% of his year in Europe.

Once you get a VISA Kid - you can fly to the US tournaments and it will take less time than to go to Acapulco. Oh wait...that won't do you any good because Nico doesn't come to the US tournaments. ;)

NicoFan
08-01-2007, 12:37 AM
I was wrong - 60% in Europe so far. Will be 60% by the end of the year too.

So far - 2 tournaments down under, 2 in LA, 2 in the US, 1 in the ME, and 11 in Europe.

By the end of the year, it will be 5 for the US and a whopping 16 for Europe.

Hello Andy???? Want another fan???? :haha:

Just teasing...Nico is mi favorito. But I wish he'd remember that he has fans in other parts of the world. And that there are other surfaces than clay. :o And that he can play hardcourt very well (obviously since he won his "big" tournament on hardcourt). Capdeville could be a good choice too

He just beat Delic at Washington and he's in the 3rd round :D

Paul would be good. And then Nico could stay home. ;)

I changed my mind after thinking about it.

Nico would be devastated if they picked Paul over him. All the sacrifices that he has made to play for Chile - that would be a complete slap in the face.

And if they do pick Paul over Nico, I hope Nico never plays for Chile ever again. They don't deserve him to play for them. :(

What a freaking nightmare.

He doesn't need this all right now. :(

I would love the US Open to be played on clay. :yeah:

Oh wait...that won't do you any good because Nico doesn't come to the US tournaments. ;)

:haha: I know, for you is almost the same if you want to fly to Miami or LA, that's why I said that Lovely can reach even Madrid in less time than you or me would reach Acapulco or Miami  it really sucks and I do get frustrated everytime that I see that thread of the europeans complaining about the tournaments and about the insane hours of the matches when the tournaments are in another continent

Just teasing...Nico is mi favorito. But I wish he'd remember that he has fans in other parts of the world. And that there are other surfaces than clay. :o And that he can play hardcourt very well (obviously since he won his "big" tournament on hardcourt). He ought to give it a bit more of a chance...

and in that account of his matches only one freaking tournament in Mexico :shout: that is without taking in consideration that all the time he is thinking about skiping Acapulco and I only know that he's coming until I see him there :o it's not his fault I know but it totally sucks!!! :ras:

Okay here we go again with this insanity ... I understand the all business with DC, I know that it's important for Chile and for the boys but since the tie against Russia you've no idea how much I hate this shit ... the last thing that Nico needs right now is to start worrying if he is going to be picked for the team and if he is going to be able to play well since it is in hardcourts and all Chile already knows that he is the "lost" point in the tie :ras:

I'm going to dissaparate during DC :rolls: ... and if I see again all the press and all Chile against Nico, I'm going to kick him in the butt so he understands that he has to think twice before playing it again

All I want is a Nico back on track, a player with confidence and happiness...no matter if he plays in Europe, America or Asia. I would pay a lot for it.

Vamos Nico + GG in doubles! :)
