MUSIC you into?

so wat kind of music are you lot into,

I love Soul from the 60's and 70's (especially Motown - Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye; and things like Aretha Franklin). I like music from the 60's in general. I also like Jazz and Reggae. The music I listen to today is Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu, India Arie and The Roots, I sometimes listen to Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest, and the Fugees.

well i'm fond of english pop rock like coldplay ( my favourite band!!), muse, travis, blur,.. and i really like some rock band from the usa: no doubt, incubus, rhcp, train. well i like hard rock too: linkin park, systeme of a down, staind,... aw and silverchair too. and it's very recent, but i like lacuna coil.
i love some song from the 70's and the 80's. :D

i'm more into people like busted, blue, jamelia, sugababes, robbie williams but i dont mind other music such as 60's -90's!

I change my interests every so often. I've come off of a long latin music jag, and now I'm getting into more arabic and african popular african music.

what kind of arab music if i may ask so? Arab music is what i listen to the most.

I would be so happy if you could recommend things to me. :) I'm just getting into this, and there isn't so much selection in the music stores I go to. I'm probably butchering some names so bear with me. Cheb Mami and Ali Farka Toure are two that I really like. Toure is more Mali really than Arabic.

I know Cheb Mami. He's very popular in North Africa and France. I've been to a concert of his once and met him at a party in Paris. I've got my pic taken with him and I was taller lol.
His music is called rai music. Very popular among teenagers. If you like this kind of music you should search for songs by (Cheb) Khaled, Rachid Taha or Faudel. They are big names here.

I don't know if you also like oriental music, but I can suggest you some of that aswell. I can't bellydance as well as Shakira, but I do like the music. It has a great beat.

OMG Monsieur Q I absolutly love Violent Femmes :worship: I'm so mad cause I find out last week that I'll miss their North American summer tour :mad: ..I always dream to see one of their show one day :cool: And since they don't do so many anymore..I guess I'll have to wait again a couple of years :rolleyes:

Beachboys make great party music. I defy the dancing not to start when you play the Beachboys.

Another great party album is Exile on Main Street.

I like indie/rock alternative music, a lot of my favourite bands are British or American {a few have already been named}.

I'm also quite into Japanese pop music at the moment. In honesty I have a very varied musical taste really.

I forgot to mention Howie Day... hmzz.. shame on me. I love his last album "Stop All The World Now" and the the song "Ghost" from "Australia" :hearts:

I didn't metion The Verve or Death Cab for Cutie! Two other bands I'm in love with :) I probably forgot loads more but I'll mention them as i recall them.
