I wonder how/why Petzschner was given SE?
I understand Rettenmaier

ATP Rules state:-
1) A player is eligible to receive a Special Exempt into the singles main draw of the following week's Tournament, subject to the provisions of this Section, if he is unable to compete in that qualifying competition because he is still competing on the date the qualifying competition begins in another Qualified Event (Nottingham begins on Sunday), and his current ranking as of the date of the entry deadline would not have otherwise qualified him as a Direct Acceptance on the original Acceptance List if he had entered. In addition, a player who is still playing a match at 9 p.m. on Friday (the Qualifying competition sign-in deadline) is eligible to receive a Special Exempt only if he wins that match.
d) A Qualified Event for Special Exempt to a Challenger Series Tournament is the singles event of an ATP or Challenger Series Tournament within the same geographic region,................. (not Bundesliga!)

But wasn't Nottingham supposed to begin on Saturday and only postponed due to rain?

Anyway, I wonder why he didn't commit here. His ranking would have been good enough. I think he needs to reach the semifinal at least to have a chance for a US Open quali entry.

that changes the whole complexion of the matches. now i think bopanna has a better chance of beating qureshi if the matches are inside.

I think it hardly makes a difference, as they are really two very similar players.

Oh the other hand, Philipp is on big disadvantage.

But that is the QF, so it might still be played on grass.

Dupuis, IMO, is at a big disadvantage, as I think hard might be Jesse's best surface.

bopanna has a slightly bigger serve, so that's where the advantage comes from in my mind.

Funny stuff with the indoors. They couldn't use local hall as there is British wheelchair competition. So they packed the players and lifted to Loughborough's university. It will be even hard to call there I guess  It looks like the match now in play is Childs-Meffert.

As expected, guys like Childs and Dupuis who are by far the best on the green stuff went down as they were forced to step into something else. It's pretty unfair because they signed for a "Grass" tournament.

Yep Aisam will be around 158 or 159 in singles but it could be 150 if he had won the final  .. but still another superb performance by him :worship: . I hope he & bopanna should keep pairing now till US Open ;)
