What did you guys think of the movie? I thought it was bad TBH. It went so quickly and they missed out lots of important parts from the book.

IMO it is the worst Harry Potter movie yet. :(

This was the first movie I saw without reading the book, I must say I was pretty happy.

I was sick of the repetition in the books (I think in the 4th about 30% was a recap of the first 3)

I thought it was a good movie, I certainly enjoyed myself, and so did the other geeks in the movie theater who couldn't help themselves and clapped and shouted whenever something big was going down (like Neville finally using his wand properly )

Book 5 is basically my least favorite of the series. Harry is a little asshole and its WAY TOO LONG. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I figure the more drudgery it cuts out of the book, the better. The high points of the book are, of course, Fred and George and the best potter villain ever, Umbridge. So long as the movie portrays them properly, I'll be happy. I'm going to see it tonight.

Umbridge is just like how you would expect her to be. She really stands out at the start-of-year feast when everybody is wearing black - expect for her who is wearing all pink. :tape:

Harry Potter 5 was also my least favorite book however the movie was good. In fact, it let me appreciate the book. I did not like the book because Harry's "rage" was too annoying. At the movie, the portrayal of Prof. Umbridge and Lastrange (sp?) was great.

I liked it better than the other movies but that's probably because I haven't read the fifth book in ages. If I had read that book before seeing the movie, I probably wouldn't of liked it. They did do a really good job at portraying Umbridge though.

i am so surprised many did not like this book :o

it's certainly my favorite one! i love it when they have a great idea of harry teaching the defense against dark arts! it's great to see how harry fights the power no matter what, how smart and patient dambldore is :yeah: it's the best book!

i am just a little afraid to be disappointed by the movie-- the movie won't be able to show all the tension, all the preassure, all the despair of knowing you are right and being unable to persuade people and be helpless against the crowd

i love it how the mass media is shown here! it's so true! ;)

anyway, i did not see the movie yet but i hope to do that next week! and i can't believe i'll be reading the 7th book just in few days!

Harry Potter time is coming!

Harry Potter in general sucks ass and much like they ban kids from some adult movies, they should ban adults from this kind of movie. Ridiculous.

The man speaks truth.

I saw it today with my misses. It sucked so bad. At least I got action.

Just saw the movie. It was good, but i don't think as good as the last one. Too often it was not true to the book and of course many bits were cut. The bit about Harry's article in Luna's dad's magazine for one thing :ras:

However, it was still well worth watching and Umbridge and Luna were played very well :D

Didnt see it.

But I guess it will be crap like the rest of the series.

Watch Lord of the Rings or Star Wars if you want to enjoy this genre of film and not this kiddy crap.

In movie terms Star Wars-->LOTR----------------->Harry Potter

In book terms, I can't really say. I've read all of the Harry Potter books, half of Fellowship of the Ring and no Star Wars books.

Just for HP though, Harry Potter Books--------------------------------------> Harry Potter movies

Yup

Star Wars >>> LOTR >>>>>>>>>>>>> Harry Potter

If I was 13 I would probably find Harry Potter interesting and LOTR boring as well.

There's no way in hell Star Wars is better than Lord of the Rings.

And I liked Order of the Phoenix the movie, it's my favorite book of the series and I think they did it justice. So it was "rushed" and cut off many parts of the book. Duh. I don't get those HP fanboys complaints. Movies 3-5 are the only good movies in the series and there's a LOT of HP fans who completely boycott those because they're so different from the books.

I never read the books but I watched all of the movies. I love the order of the phoenix. Also, the first and the third. For movie, the second and the fourth one are not that good in my opinion. For movie, Harry > Lord of the ring > > > Star wars for me. ;)
