well, from what I saw in Minsk I had different impressions of Vlad play. He is stil very young, he has lots to improve and first of all he has to learn how to deal with his emotions.
But from other side he has a spirit of great fighter and he is so eager to play and to win :yeah:
I saw two his matches, doubles semies and singles final. I am not going to speak about final match, because it was just :retard: no game at all, I stil wonder why on earth Pavlovs even decided to go on court :tape:
As for doubles semies, it was really nice to see how Voltchkov was taking care of him during the match. It's quite natural that you make errors when you haven't much experience. So each time when little Vlad had an emotional outburst and was pissed off after wrong shot, the other Vlad encouraged him saying smth like "it's ok, you're doing great" and etc.
Their opponents weren't playing much more effective. Unfortunately Voltchkov was in a bad shape :tape: and Vlad so wanted to play, so wanted to take part in a game than sometimes he forgot it was doubles game and not singles. There were some moments when it would be better to let Voltchkov play
oh well, it is all because little Vlad hasn't much experience at all. He is just in the beginning of a long long road ;)
Ignatik 6-6 (vs Serra) on first set, now in Washington :o

Gu  you may like it or not, but it is so: Ignatik nowadays is a much better player that Max or Vlad Voltchkov.
I saw Voltchkov at BLR F1 futures in Minsk and I saw Mirnyi during the master class at BLR F3 futures in another Belarussian town called Pinsk. It is sad to say, but they are both out of form especially Max.  He wasn't playing a match, it was just a class for kids during the opening ceremony - but he barely moved around the court and gasped for breath :awww:

There was that illness that happened after that DC tie against Poland too...
I think Max kinda lost his will to fight after having kids and stuff... kinda like Hewitt.
Nadia, it's not about Max or Vlado, it's just that for some time Belarus had 2 players in the top 100, then a constant player in the top 100 for years and now a guy who's just leaving the junior tournaments is the best ranked player...
Hope that a new generation comes and takes Max and Vladimir's places. :)

Congrats with doubles title in Wolfsburg Challenger :)
partnering Laurynas Grigelis
Uladzimir has a 9-8 record in singles this season. His best result this season is making the SF of Cherbourg in late February, defeating Gicquel and Goffin before losing to Teixeira. It's result like that which make you realize why Uladzimir has been touted as a future talent, yet his last few season he's unfortunately stalled out on the challenger tour, as injuries and inconsistency have gotten in the way of his progression, and he is currently ranked #268. Hopefully he can start making consistent progress soon.
Uladzimir is 2-0 in Davis Cup competition this season, defeating Borvanov and Albot in singles competition to help Belarus defeat Moldova 4-1 in the first round of Group 2 competition in early-February. This weekend he is playing for Belarus vs Bosnia-Herzegovina in Minsk. Bosnia-Herzegovina has a good team headlined by Delic and the up-and-coming youngster Dzumhur, and I'm sure Uladzimir will bring his best level for this important tie. GL to him and the entire Belarusian team!
