Now that Mr. Complainy Pants Nadal, Mr. Vacation Federer and Djokovic have come through to the semis, Roddick can make it a perfect square if he beats Gasquet.

When's the last time this has happened in a men's Grand Slam?

(I'm pretty sure Roddick will get through.)

Last year at RG.

Yea, but it won't be very competitive matches, honestly I think Gasquet would trouble Federer more than Roddick.

What a turnabout that would be - WTA v. ATP. Used to be the ladies side that would rarely see a sub top 8-er in the semis. This year looks like they'll get that young, 23 ranked upstart into the final. ;)

But, yeh, I think A-Rod gets thru no problem to make the perfect quad.

It also happened at the AO 2005.
Federer, Roddick, Hewitt and Safin.

I think Djokovic's win put him at #4.

So, quite logically, following the geometric progression, the next time it will occur is USO 2008.

Last time it happened at Wimbledon was in 1995 with Pete, Andre, Goran and Boris although I don't remember if Goran was seeded #4 or #5 so I may be wrong.

Can't ask for anything more.

As much as I can't stand Roddick, I'd rather see him than Gasquet and his stubby legs.

I cant stand watching Roddick play. Big server with defensive game is as ugly and contradicting as tennis can be, but it works on poor Gasquet.

generally i agree with you and i'm not fond of roddick's game either, but today he's really upping the ante. i haven't seen him playing like in this 2nd set for a long time, hats off to you, andy. :)

i know about gasquets shortcomings in big matches etc., but you have to give roddick some credit for the way he's going at it currently. and he's far from playing his usual defense-stuff.

Well it doesnt work against the kings of tennis (Nadal and Federer) and if you want to beat the kings you have to play like a king and that is not what Roddick is doing.

Yeah and still Gasquet has almost twice the amount of winners compared to Roddick.
