if Gasquet and Krajicek win the set they are playing, there will be NO MORE SINGLES MATCHES on court 1 and 2 today!!!???

CyBorg

They should get more matches in, according to the Wimbledon blogger. It's not official, but unless there's more rain we'll see another match or two.

I figure the players are on standby. And no, hopefully no Fed(for fairness sake), they'd better do some matches from the bottom half.
And please, kick those Bryan losers from the showcourt.

The bad thing of course is that we'll have to wait for all of these mixed doubles matches to end - as per the schedule - before we get to the singles.

I have only one comment: WORST BUSINESS DECISION EVER...

Centre court is free too - Venus just dealt with Shriekapova!
Good Riddance.

I believe Serena is coming up on Centre Court. A double dose of the Williams sisters apparently is necessary to the Brits.

They can have fun while I am not watching.

How can they keep players on standby? It's a big deal when schedule of matches aren't told to players the day before I can't imagine the raucous of hours before.

I have no idea about the scheduling anymore - I have completely lost track.   You may well be right.

Why aren't they trying to get in as many R16 matches as they can? I look at the schedule and all I see is mixed doubles or boy's singles.

in all fairness though, it is a 2nd round match of the second seeds in mixed doubles, if that doesn't deserve a show court

I can't believe that they rather give mixed doubles a priority instead of mens singles. One thing is sure they should never be asked to plan a wedding.

If no more men's singels are played today I wouldn't mind seeing some boy's singles for a change, I mean it's on a show court and the coverage time is still on. It's always good to know what the future will look like. ;) But of course, that's just wishful thinking...

There is only one hope. A quick straight sets win for Henin, prompting a men's match right away thereafter.

Then again, maybe we'll see bingo.

nope, another mixed doubles 1st round planned (as is on court 1 AFTER the current mixed doubles match as well as on court 2 after Krajicek - Bartoli)

so in about 2 hours time, we might get 3 mixed doubles matches on the 3 show courts

Bjorkman-Berdych and Davydenko-Bagdhatis can easily play today. Then we would already have 6 of 8 quarter finalists ready. It's surely better than nothing and I doubt those guys would mind playing two days in a row given the situation.

No, not throw fairness out the window.

IF they do a round per day, they finish completely on time, and if they don't, they do a Monday final, which isn't exactly the most horrible thing in the entire world.

Yes- because it is all about Nadal. Djokovic - who was tied at one set all coming into today- is a non-entity I imagine. ;)

Sheesh- for all of the buzz that Nole had coming into the tournament he is the forgotten man it seems. On ESPN they have not showed a lick of any of his matches.

Sigh.... Adam today is the 4th of July. If this is not the day for Yanks to complain about what is wrong with the Brits I don't know what is. ;) Of course- all other countries are free to quibble as well.

Seriously- I know that I am but a small tadpole in a huge pond but the fact that on the days when I am not working and there are few to no tennis matches that I am interested in kinda bugs. I am glad that I am not one of the folks out there at the tournament- but in this day representing freedom for my country I will take it to self-entitlement and whine that I can not see more tennis before our July 4 BBQ. :)

They had Andy Roddick and Juan Carlos Ferrero playing yesterday when several round three matches were still to be played. Or did you mean in the same half of the draw?
