...Davydenko on grass or Roddick on clay?

Serious question, not bashing either player. Just both of them look...lost out there.

This thread would make some sense if Davydenko wasnt coming off a straight sets 3rd round win.

YEs monfils sucks big time but still davydenko is in the 4th round while Dick can only dream of a 2nd round apperance at Roland Garros.

Well, Andy has made the 3rd round once, which in itself is an achievement for him.

Andy's game has changed since he first came on tour. He has actually got worse on clay, he used to have an explosive baseline game that was quite adaptable to clay, now he can't do much other than serve. I'd say he's worse on clay than Davydenko is on grass at the moment, but on terms of career, Roddick has done more on clay.

Kolya

Obviously Roddick on clay.

Am I completely unaware? That's news to me. I just find it funny that 2 players, who are in the top 5, can be completely exposed by a change of surface in a day and age where surfaces have become remarkably similar.

I think it may be you who are completely unaware of the context of the thread. I'm sure #956 in the world is worse than Roddick and Davydenko on every surface. Does it matter or are you posting for the sake of posting and being heard?

roddick on clay...but he really used to be better when he didnt get as flustered as he does now on the surface. His fh has shown signs of being back this wimbledon, but until i see him go for it more consistently...its too soon.

I like his body language. He has always has that winners mentality about him even if his game doesnt always show it.

Let's see how your logic pans out: Roddick has won some clay titles, which by definition means he's not as completely hopeless on the clay as MTF tards like to believe, and Davydenko is into the fourth round of Wimbledon, which means he's not as inept on grass as he maybe thought he was. Are you posting dumb threads just for the sake of posting and being heard?

I don't need to know anymore than the fact that you use it as vindication of Roddick's clay acumen. If you don't understand the topic...don't respond.

From what I have heard, IvanLjubicic puts a beat down on Jerry 90% of the time, IL must have had an off day.

Um, Roddick also won St Poelten. But let me guess: that achievement doesn't count either, right?

Seriously, if you can't come up with a more original thread other than to knock Roddick's clay ability then don't bother posting. Do a search for the other 9,887,653,345,678 threads about it first. Thanks.

i have a huge serve with huge FH and good one hand BH :) but i do suck at the net  he has a good serve, but he cant hit a FH or BH to save his life, he can do it like once every 3 or 4 games, justs goes for it, but misses any other time  he is S&V all the way.

Sorry if I offended you as a Roddick fan. Maybe I ticked off the Kolya fans as well. Who knows. The thread was in good fun but obviously, you do not appreciate the context. My deepest apologies.

there are worse on both. As has been said Roddick actually used to be pretty good on clay when he was young but in his pursuit to beat Federer/Nadal he has been forced to change his game.

Davydenko is far from natural on grass but he's in the 4th round and i see no reason why he can't be reasonably effective on it.

Since Kolya has reached the last 16 at Wimbledon and still with a chance to go further and Roddick has never passed beyond the third round in RG I would go with Roddick on clay.

Roddick has never made the 2nd week of RG, he doesn't even book the hotel for that long in Paris.

He has gone backwards on clay and as for Davydenko on grass, well he has surprised himself and got to week 2.

Facts are these are top 10 players whether people like this or not. Roddick moving on clay is funny.
