was the best and luckiest shot I've seen in a long while. At game point too for 3-2 in the fifth against Soderling. You gotta love Rafa. Anybody have it on YouTube?

Luck is the word of power here.

The backhand slice stab pass he hit against Del Potro in Miami was pretty nice too.

I hope this shot will appear on YouTube, indeed. A magnificent shot! :worship:

Rafa hits a lot of amazing shots and almost none of them are mishits

Here's that squash shot he made in the same match (and I hope somebody puts up Wayne Arthur's squash shot he made on match point, too):

Suddenly, tennis players are squash players.

The squash shot was indeed nasty. Thanks for posting.

I mean, it's all luck. The guy can't even hold the racket decently.

I hope that was sarcasm.

I hope that was sarcasm.

I think she's referring to a Federer's mishits which go in for winners.

Nadal mishits the ball as much or even more than Federer does. He uses so much damn topspin that it always goes in though.

That was very good shot. Nadal is flexible and has a great reflex.

Great racket control. This match is a memorable one.

Nope. His running passing shots are not mishits.

What does Federer have to do with Nadal's winners?

Well it would be hard to forget a match that took four days to finish. At this point I don't even care who wins, I just want it to be over.

A little luck but it's all athleticism to get to the ball in the first place.

Now, don't tell me that you believe Powerful topspin and squash shots are flukes? I play tennis and with the right grip, talent and practice one can do tht continuously.

great shot, hopefully not enough to win the match.

great shot; everyone was in awe, but he really killed the moment by doing his fistpump in that constipated stance

Brilliant! Just out of the world. Nadal's athleticism is unmatched on tour. :worship:

BTW, I don't want to start another thread on it, but does anyone remember the crosscourt-backhand Rafa hit at the opening of the fourth set (I dont remember the exact moment) at FO this year. He was IN THE AIR when he hit it, leaving even the mighty Fed no chance to get to the ball. Unreal! Is it also on Youtube? Can anyone provide the link, please?

Guy is so dynamic, just so great to watch!

Yeah, same here. I thought it was an incredible shot but his overreaction kind of ruined it for me.

Rafa is damn lucky, no doubt. I hope he gets this lucky at more crucial matches, if he's lucky enough to pass the Soderling litmus test first!:)

Yeah, it was a great shot, but I´ve seen Becker do it a lot better in his time. Take a look at this, for example.

Exactly... His shot was brilliant (though lucky), but his overreacted fist pumping was just over the top.....

Cot damn, that was a dope shot....SMH at anyone who thinks otherwise.

For me personally though, that squash shot he played before was just OUT OF THIS WORLD!

i guess it was a great shot, Nadal good enough to be @ yesterday's swiss telejournal, right after the politics and before the meteo :D

as much as I don't like Nadal, both the diving volley and the squash shot were absolutely brilliant. The latter was definitely no fluke, the dive was lucky for where it landed (otherwise Soderling would have had an easy shot to finish the rally)

he overeacts quite a bit in my opinion, but the worst overeaction i saw was Monfils yesterday against davy. he saved match point, ok that's good, but he was still another match point down and it really didn't deserve a massive 'Allez!!' as far as i'm concerned.

Monfils is the dumbest player on tour... Rafa looks like a babe in the woods compared to that prick.
