Either Kiefer or Djokovic, 7-6, 6-6 (6-5 so far) for Djokovic in that match.

Edit: And, of course, good job to Hewitt. :D

Hewitt is definitely going to the semi. Djoko is making too many mistakes and all in all seems mentally unprepared to beat Hewitt. Nice to see Lleyton back.

P.S. It's not out of the question, of course, that Kiefer may beat Djoko.

The fist pump at the end of the match was great to see. It was so sad when Hewitt was looking like a shadow of himself. The real Hewitt is back with us and he has a great chance to go deep.

If Djokovic advance to play Hewitt, which statement would be more appropriate?
"It's a good test for Djokovic."
or
"It's a good test for Hewitt."

Yeah:rolleyes: ~~ Hewitt has no chance of beating Djokovic on any surface other than grass:confused:
...
Funny thing is that the last time Hewitt/Djokovic faced off it was Llegs who won [gifted Nole a total of 6-games at last year`s USO]:p

2006 US Open
NY, U.S.A. Hard R32
Hewitt def. Djokovic 6-3 6-1 6-2

Hewitt def. Djokovic 6-3 6-1 6-2 im not trying to say Lleyton could not beat him on Clay or HC, but Novak is not as good yet on grass.

And Novak is much better than he was last year, he has so far this year he has been the the 3rd best player in the world.

Canas is a grinder but so is Hewitt, and Willy dir hit the same number of winner as Hewitt

His game is not very fluid, techincal and smooth but he is not that bad either, after all he outwinnered Richard "the great, awesome, hypermega awesome shotmaker" Gasquet in Indian Wells  .

Hewitt is a counterpuncher and they are different things. Canas was grinding less than usual and was a little more agressive which was good to see but Hewitt was making the running in 90% of rallies and calling him a grinder is a bit of a joke.

Canas winner count is high because he has a good serve, he is not hitting more winners in rallies than his opposition.

why is a joke calling hewitt a grinder?????????? he is not a server-

volley player, not a big hitter, not a big server, not a shotmaker, i

do not know in what category he belongs if not a grinder or

counterpuncher
, maybe in english there is some other word???

Very good match by Hewitt, congratulations to him. Willy gave all he had and it was a nice match to watch. Willy really didn't do too much wrong, but when Hewitt is playing positive tennis, he's one of the toughest opponents out there.

Counterpuncher means he uses his opponenets pace to control the point and create angles. He is looking to win the point, not looking for the opponent to lose the point.

grinder is a informal way to call that kind of players ,its not an insult, hewitt can be labeled with that vey well

Canas uses the pace of his opponents many times too ,specially with his forehand, and he moves the ball around very well when defending/counterpunching, not he just puts the ball in play
