Nadal in 3 if he takes the first set. Soderling might have a chance but he may need to attack the net a lot on good approach shots. Also too much of a choker. Putting him on centre court won't help one bit.

Doesn't he always, He's had his chances against Federer, but once put under pressure he starts missing his forehand long and netting his backhand. Rafael will be too consistent and will not let in.

Let's face it: Rafa most likely, from this point forward, will have real struggles and battles. His run (if he makes it to the finals) could be reminiscent of the years Lendl made it to the finals. Every match was a war. Lendl vs. Bobo, Lendl vs. Mayotte...etc.

I think Rafa will win in three to four sets. If it goes five, Rafa will likely KILL him in the fifth.

NAdal is not likely to even take a set against Berdych. I dont see that match becoming a fight at all. Youzhny could be a hell of a fight and Söderling better win this in 4 because he cant win it in a 5 set battle.

Soderling isn't quite able to be consistent enough to keep Nadal down for three sets out of five. I see Soderling taking a set at best, but more likely Rafa winning in three tight sets. There should be patches of "Man, how will Rafa beat Berdych?", but they'll only make us realize Rafa will have a tough time beating tougher players than Soderling.

It's not about his grand slam record, it's about their match up. If Berdych plays his best, there's nothing Nadal can do and he would struggle to win a set.

Well, seeing as Birdman and Nadal have never played each other at a Slam, it would be pretty shoddy to base a prediction on Slam history. Blake's Slam history is even worse than Birdman's and he beat Nadal at the US Open already pretty comfortably.

Berdych's grass capability; 3-0 head on non-clay courts; the match-up; all of them likely point to a comfortable Berdych victory. That's assuming Berdych can get past Lee and Arthurs/Bjorkman, because with him, you never know. But if he is in the quarters and Nadal is on the other side of the net, he will come to play. Berdych is supremely confident against Nadal off of clay, that is for sure.

kobulingam

The rainy conditions are helping Soderling's shots go through the court fast, and also making it harder for Nadal to use his superior movement. This is the big reason why Soderling is troubling Nadal.

Last year was hot/dry and Nadal was able to play a game "close enough" to his natural game to make it to the final. This year's slicker conditions are preventing that - though Nadal is still in the tournament.

Yes. Nadal has played rather poorly the last two sets. Soderling is OK off of the ground but really tearing it up on serve. Nadal has made more errors than winners which is hard to do on grass and something which he didn't do all of last year at Wimby. Soderling had a chance at 15-40 there but didn't take advantage.

These rain delays are really helping Söderling. They aren't letting Nadal ride the momentum mentally. Whenever play resumes, Nadal is the one under pressure because he's the big favourite to win, being no. 2 in the world and last year's runner-up. Söderling has nothing to lose and just comes out firing, and when he's not in a winning position, that's when he's at his best.

Nadal had his chance to finish this off in straights. He was up a break in the third set and had an easy fh put away on MP. For some :retard:ed reason he decided to go for the line when he had an open court and missed. After that the rain came and the rest is history. If Nadal does lose this match (which I highly doubt will happen) he only has himself to blame for this. He knew there was a good chance for the rain to come.

Nadal will have to pull one out of a hat, because his serve won't win this one for him. The rain is most unfair to the guy.

Rafa feeds off momentum - he builds it up gradually over the course of a match and learns to exploit the opponent by intimidating him with his energy. Here there's no momentum - one break and it's done.

Soderling has the advantage here big time.
