Tough match for the bird. I can't believe Llodra couldn't win one TB.

Llodra was a break up in the fourth 'till Berdman raised his level. Good stuff!

Llodra is a great underrated player too bad he didnt have a better draw.

Not surprising scoreline if we know Berdych's mental strengh and choker skills of Llodra.

Good job Tomas.

Is Llodra a huge server or what ? Berdch made no impression on his serve, judging from the scoreboard.

How did Berdych play?

Worse than yesterday, he was angry at umpires and arguing with them all the time. But he was quite strong at saving BPs.

Hmm, not a good sign. Maybe he got all the anger out of his system though. Great that he can play well when it matters (BPs faced). Thanks. :)

Well the trick is to play the important points well and get the W under your belt even when not playing well. So considering the fact that Berdych has struggled in such situations in the past but today he managed to come through is actually a good sign.

Besides, Llodra is no mug on the grass. When I saw his name next to Berdych's in the draw I immediately thought this could be a tough one. IIRC Llodra is left handed and can slice the serve out wide, he can serve and volley, hits flat and hard and uses the BH slice a lot. So this was a very good match for Berdych to come through.

Definitely a good perspective to take! Not playing well and managing to pull out a win is much better than not playing well and getting ripped apart. Winning matches when things aren't going your way has to be a good learning experience, and Berdych is a player who needs that kind of experience, having lost so many matches because things just weren't clicking into place.

Not the most convincing match by Berdych but at least he won. Too often when he doesn't play well he ends up losing.

nothing new under the rain, it's Berdych's personal touch ;) The match was a thriller, the 4th set fantastic. Who's next?

So Berdych has Hyung-Taik Lee next who could be tricky but he should win. Should he come through he plays the winner of Bjorkman - Arthurs which could be tough also.

Hyung-Taik Lee should be ok... but big server Wayne Arthurs in round 4 :scared: finally it's not an "easy" draw for Berdych... for instance, i'm watching Nadal/Eschauer (sound off) well, Llodra is not a nobody on grass, but Eschauer... i've never watched a match of Eschauer.

WTF? Berdych is a brilliant grass court player. Tons of people are realizing how good he is this year, but even last year - he only lost to Federer!

Anyway it sounds like a tough match, but it's nice to see Berdych show some mental strength (for a change hehe) in important situations. Keep it up!

Not huge but pretty big, and his game is well suited to grass (he's a good doubles player).

Well done Tomas :) :) Perhaps should've been seen as a bit easier considering Llodra's ranking but then again he isn't that bad a player but still well done to Tomas :)
