What a letdown, I was hoping for some Henman miracles this year.

Feliciano raised his game in comparison to the third and fourth and Timmy had no reply. Maybe he thought he had it in the bag.

Lopez apologised to the crowd after the match.

I don't understand how Henman can play so great in the 3rd and 4th and then fold like a cheap hooker in the 5th.

Yeah, he had all the momentum on his side but couldn't take full advantage of it, that cost him the match.

Tim

He had the match but let it slip at the beginning of the 5th.

Lopez must've made 5 out of about 70 backhand passes, it was quite pathetic at times. He served well though and volleyed fairly nicely, which basically won him the match.

No way was Henman going to win two consecutive 5-setters playing 4 days in a row.
Lopez lead by a break of serve (2-0) in the third set but then strayed away for an hour or so. A toilet break before the decider helped him regroup and there was no looking back from there. Henman was probably feeling the heat after dropping serve in the fifth and you just knew he wasn't going to come back this time. He looked mightily disappointed, and so did the crowd. But it was good entertainment.

Expected win by Lopez. :D

I must say Lopez made me sick with his tennis in the 3rd and 4th set, but with that solid 5th set I can forgive him.

Now watch the British press rip into Tim again just a day after they hailed him a national hero. Poor Tim

The Brits should be happy that Tim gave them such a memorable match the other day; it really gave them something to cheer about.

Tim :sobbing:

Very nice fightback from 2 sets and a break down...but he has a horrible habit of losing when he manages to level a match from such a deficit. :smash:

Lopez's serve practically won it for him today...but you have to give him credit. His 5th set record is pretty good...now 8/4 I believe?

Congrats to Lopez he does have a great serve, his backhand is just awful though.

Too bad for Timmy and all those English fans.

It was an interesting match, the first two sets were nail biters then Lopez seemed to be on his way out only to come back so brilliantly in the last. Tim just had no answers in the last set where Lopez took absolute control. Congratulations to Lopez, proved he has the stamina and the game to do great things.

It was so sad after he evened things up only to lose the last set like that. FLo was just too tough in that last set losing only one point on serve.

Good bye Tim- :) I hope the press does not rake him over the coals for this. With his first round match this year he once again proved how much excitement he has brought to this tournament.

Lopez actually played well.

Awww... this result sucks. I can't believe he folded so easily and simply stopped returning Feli's serves. He played really poor tactically in that last set. If he had only held his serve at 1-4, I really think the momentum would have shifted again.

It's hard out here for a Henman fan.

Well done to Feli though :) I doubt he'll win his next opponent, no idea who he's facing next but i still think he'll lose :)

LaLo, hit some topspin backhand passes that weren't mishits. Good to see Al Costa has been teaching him well.
