I think Roddick lost serve at the end just so he could beat Federer's record in consecutive tiebreaks won.

The ESPN said Udomchoke only weight 120 lbs. He could be the best player by pound :D

I love Darren Cahill saying rodduck is mediocre after his serve. And this match pretty much proved it.

I missed the rest of the match after the first set. What happened to Andy? Was he goofing off too much?

Andy's restraining order against his biggest fan Peabrain :hearts: won't stop the Pea from watching any his hero's matches, no siree. :haha:

btw, it's great to hear that Andy is winning matches when his serve isn't working. The MTF tards keep saying that Andy can't win without his serve.

I missed the rest of the match after the first set. What happened to Andy? Was he goofing off too much? Not at all, he was just making mistakes. Looked like maybe he was having trouble focusing, I dunno. At the end he was trying really hard and was breathing extremely heavily, even for him. It was kind of odd, but just not good tennis from him. Too many lazy shots esp off the forehand.

Very weird. So that's two matches gone where he hasn't been able to focus at all. Maybe he took the match and his opponent too lightly? Hope he can straighten it out.

he made a lot of UEs with the BH today but better now that in the later stages.
Serve was working as usual

Floating returns to the middle of the court, and then running around the baseline like a chicken with it's head cut off is not the way Andy wants to make a living methinks. Oh well! Um, a win is a win. I would like to see Andy start taking the ball on and go for more winners etc. Forehand today was poops magee, and Andy kept slicing the crap out of the ball for no reason! Andy was panting and out of breathe because he was running around like an idiot for most of the third set. I wonder what Andy is going to do when he plays someone who actually has weapons!?!

Not all that great from Roddick, but he didn't need to be great. His serve didn't even look all that great. Clear shot to at least the QF's for him though.

There was a moment, during the USO final, when I actually liked what I saw from him. Now he's completed his trnsformation from a one-dimensional-yet-attacking player to a big serving moonballer.

Indeed...there aren't too many of those around.

He didn't take his opponent lightly. Otherwise he wouldn't be frustrated even though he was leading by 2 sets and a break. He just wasn't able to execute his shots well after the first set.

It is suprising how weak his groundstrokes look, he still is drilling the serve, lucky its grass and it rewards that type of play. He will proably be in the SF.

Only saw the last set. Mostly disappointing. Thought his focus, and his shot selections were all over the place. When he got down 0-40...but then fought back...I thought, OK, now he's back on track...but nooooo...lost his serve on the next go 'round. Good serving (by anyone else's standards) but just so-so for him. Not sure why I'm finding so much to complain about...in a straight set win.

Hope he can pick it up a notch...and that he'll benefit from getting his match in today rather than waiting on the rain.

I enjoyed the 1st set, there were some good rallies from both players. After that, the big screen switched to the Serena Williams match. :(

Andy can win TBs against anyone except Federer.

Watching this match was painful. Udomchoke doesn't have the game to hit many winners yet kept Roddick on the move. Roddick just kept slicing backhands, hitting forehands almost as weak as Udomchokes, and bricking volleys. If he plays like this next match he is out of this tournament (even though it is Verdasco).

This was pretty poor from Andy.... serve was fantastic (first serve at 80% or thereabouts) but Udomchoke was the one making the running in rallies.

Andy couldn't hit a bloody return either. And he looked really frustrated too. Actually, since I don't get any clay court coverage, I'd probably say this is the worst I can ever remember seeing him play

Cahill is right concerning Roddick^s game. After the snide remarks about his opponents game, I was hoping the little guy would win. It wasn^t as easy for Andy as the announcers thought.

Doesn't he notice how lame his gameplay was? Does he even have a strategy? This guy is amazing, in a miserable way. He can toss God's salad for giving him that serve because his whole game is E.M.P.T.Y.

Roddick played so crap...

He would have lost to a top 50 player.
