Trevisan lost the final of that tournament in 3 sets

All 3 are in Avezzano this week, but Trevisan lost in the 1st round to 4 seed Trusendi, again in 3 sets :(

Fabbiano and Lopez had relatively easy wins. Fabbiano is currently 612 in the rankings after his QF in the last challenger while Trevisan should go up next week when the final of the future event is taken into account.

Fabbiano and Lopez into QF... both with 3 set wins. Lopez defeated the difficult Trusendi who had already knocked out Trevisan. 7-5 in the 3rd in a brutal match from what it seems. While Fabbiano had an easier time, but it still took 3 sets winning 61 26 62

Fabbiano out in final set tie-break.. Lopea into SF on final set TB... as far as I know... Lopez will get 4 pts so far for reaching SF, Fabbiano will get 2 pts for reaching QF... 0 for Trevisan.

Well there is next year... just concentrate on a decent end to the year and go into good training (strengthening training normally for juniors going into seniors) and start next year in the futures and challengers.

Champion number 1
09-08-2007, 10:22 AM
In the semis Fabbiano plays unseeded Janowicz

The other is Trevisan against Berankis a 15th seed of Lithuania.

IMO a good chance for an all Italian final which would be amazing, but one step at a time. I just hope for even one of them to get there :)

L'INTERVISTA/Thomas Fabbiano

”Sorprendente”.

Nice to see Trevisan has won his first match after that unfortunate break through illness. I wish him well. I know a bit about him and Fabbiano, but I admit I know very little about Lopez - can you tell me how he plays? I heard he went for a while to Spain and also to Argentina, but things did not work out, so he came back to Italy. What is his style?

Fabbiano has really started to pick up. His poor start to the year was probably gaining experience against the seniors. He is now playing well it seems. Trevisan's injury means he still needs some more matches before he starts to rise in the rankings. Not sure Lopez is a future top 100 player or not, at this moment he doesnt seem to be, but I hope his results can start to improve.

Both players have certainly been imprving this season. Hopefulyl both start doing consistently well in challengers by the end of the year and rise in the rankings.

I haven't given up on both Trevisan and Fabbiano, everytime I see them play I wonder why they can't keep the momentum when they have it in matches they end up losing. They're talented players that have struggled in the Challenger circuit but I hope they can, at least, end the season inside the top 200. Trevisan will have a harder time though with his current ranking. Fitness has been a huge factor/issue for both. Still cheering and supporting them, hope they don't give up!
