i guys i am from delhi india and completely frustrated with cricket saturation in india-there is no other sport which is big in india and anyway coz overrated indian cricketers make me sick-i support ponting's devils and with that started my love for australia in sports in general

i have always been a cricket and tennis fan

just tell me where do these two sports rank in aussie sports(u guys have so many-union-rules-league-soccer-swimming etc. and sadly in india-its cricket from a to z).

tennis is a very popular spectator sport. The Australian open produces the biggest crowds and makes huge money every year. But because its a international sport, it is not as popular as cricket, AFL, NRL, Union. Only the australian open and wimbledon are on free TV, the rest of the tour is on cable.

No way, we are a cricketing nation, it is far and above our most popular sport - though I personally find it very dull. AFL and NRL vary depending on if you asked a Victorian or a Queenslander - Victorians would say AFL because they are so very, very passionate about it but a Queenslander would say NRL due to the intertstate competition once a year - which doesn't involve Victoria. But number one is absolutely cricket, due to the widespread popularity across the nation.

1. Cricket
2. AFL
3. NRL
4. Union
5. Tennis
