Whats the worst injury you've sustained?

What is the worst injury you have sustained? (tennis or not)

The two most painful injuries I have had both came from tennis. A couple of months ago, I stressed fractured my left shin, but let me just say, that was painless compared to rolling over my ankle! That just happened today, and damn, I didn't think that that would hurt as much as it did!!!! :bigcry:

How about a car accident putting me in a wheelchair? I was stupid enough to drive with a broken leg. Good thing it's temporary.

broken ulna (arm): fell off jungle gym in second grade

broken finger: from catching a baseball wrong in sixth grade

head wound: a shelf fell on my head while I was sleeping (moral of story -- don't sleep under a shelf! ;) )

bad ankle sprain: from tennis, coming down after jumping for an overhead

I slipped on a chip on the floor in Mcdonalds, my tray of food and milkshake that went flying was least of my worries as i actually fractured my elbow !

Sustained at the Australian Open this year when I fell down 3 steps of Court 3 during the Sjeng Schalken vs Jurgen Melzer match. Bjorkman Girl insists it was because Melzer was in the middle of a shirt change when I walked in, but I honestly didn't see the players until after I fell!

I twisted both my ankles and whacked the bone behind my right ear on a chair in front. My left ankle was particularly bad and I couldn't walk for about 3 days... it actually flared up again yesterday because of the cold weather. This apparantly means I'll probably get arthritis in it later on :(

My other worst injury was in 1994 when I got a badly ingrown toenail and went in for surgery to get the whole big toenail removed. The stupid surgeon only removed a portion of the nail instead and dressed it badly so the bandage all stuck to the nail. I couldn't get out of bed for a week because any slight movement of the foot put my whole body in agony and when the nail did grow back I had a massive growth underneath it which has only gone away in the last couple of years with the help of a podiatrist.

ankle sprain from running. I could only walk by my stick, and it was always painful and tortured me. The worst is I couldn't wash my foot for a whole week, because of the ointment!!

I slipped on a chip on the floor in Mcdonalds

Conan is sorry about the resulting injuries, mattf, but that might be one of the funniest lines Conan has read in a long time.

Conan accepts that paper cuts are part of the job, however painful they are. Conan's most painful injury was a fractured wrist that he continued to play rugby, not knowing it was fractured. Conan has also broken his nose, a finger and has more scars than he cares to mention.

I'm sorry to hear that, but hopefully the food was still wrapped in paper and you were able to follow the "five-second rule..." ;)

I haven't been fortunate enough to brutally hurt myself. ;) Sprained ankles and popped fingers (from basketball)... but nothing serious.

My brother on the other hand, has had half a dozen serious injuries. Torn ligaments, broken bones.... and he jumped of the roof of our house thinking he was superman and bone broke through the skin. Lovely.

I haven't had that many bad injuries the worst was a broken leg from a bad landing off a ski jump. I was on the baby jump and I took off thinking I was the man, then the wind was a bit much and I didn't adjust and woohoo bad landing.

Other ones I have had are just muscle injuries like a strained quad for 2 months, could walk after a week, but couldn't run for 2 months. Sprained ankles, but my brother did a Kent Carlsson playing tennis, he went to change direction and his body went one day, but his left leg didn't go in that direction.

Tell your brother he is not superman and to stop ruining his body !!! LOL, spiderman is much safer, climb dont jump.

lol! Now that he's 24 I think he's come to terms with the fact that he can't fly.

none. Nothing's been broken, although one time, while playing (Indoor) volleyball... I landed awkwardly, on my little finger. I snapped the majority of my fingernail off. It didn't hurt, but it did 'freak me out' a bit! Almost injured during a tennis game... Jarkko/Johan were playing doubles, and Johan (Landsberg) came wide to hit a ball... ran as fast as anyone I've ever seen... luckily the fence got in the way, his racquet was about 60cm from my head... Exciting though!

Not that this happened to me, my only injuries have been a bad hip, which I injured playing football and didn't land properly. It's fixed now, though I was in a lot of pain.

The one I feel most responsible for was one to my friend. We were playing a football game and I hit this excellent pass and he beat the guy, ran down the side of the field and then all of a sudden the fell down with no one around him. I yelled "come on man, you weren't in the penalty box".

He tried to walk and couldn't and it was later found out that he snapped his achilles tendon and was out of sport for a year, and I felt somehow responsible.

I dislocated my knee while playing tennis indoors last December- the whole kneecap was out of place, I had to slam it back in. It swelled up, I couldn't bend the knee and was on crutches for six weeks until the swelling subsided and I could walk again. Fun, fun, fun :fiery: :fiery: :fiery:

Worst? Fell down the stairs and hit my head. Some years later I was walking down the streat and a 4 wheel drive hit my head again. In both cases I was unconscious and stuff.

Also I had fructured ulna and radius near the wrist. I'm surprized that my hand was still moving and looked straight.
Also I had a crack in my humerous, which wasn't so bad.
What else? Yeah I ws zig-zaging on my bike on a concrete floor which was covered with gravel. It wasn't long till I slippped and slid 2 meters on this gravel, tearing out around 1 cc of flesh from the muscle near the elbow. 'T wasn't bad as well.

Tennis injuries? the worst was when I all of a sudden decided to dive on hard courts. My elbos and knees were stripped of skin.

A broken arm, i was little and i fell off my bike:rolleyes:
Something with my left kneecap, it was out of place, and it took weeks before it was back again, that made me had to stop playing football for competition..
A broken elbow, during a football-match
and a broken foot, just 2 weeks ago, it happened with cycling
