To make the masters cup, Ferrero will have to end the year in the top 7 because of Costa and Thomas J winning slams, one of them is assured a spot.
If one of the 2 are in the top 8, then Ferrero would have to make top 6 since the other would be given a wild card.
He is only 22 points off third place right now, and he and the other two Spaniards are in a dead heat :)

this should be a tight race to decide the Final 8 in the Masters Cup. hopefully Juan Carlos can keep up his high level of play on the hard courts the rest of the season to earn enough points! ;)

Thx for the info. I thought both Costa and Johansson got to go as long as they stayed in the top 20. Glad JC stands a better shot at going, but now I'm sad as well, as Thomas Johansson is one of my favs...and I'm not big on Costa. Anyway, thx for the info, and I hope and believe that JC can get in that spot...but Roddick and Haas will be dangerous, as will Federer if he ever finds his form again

Juan Carlos gets 15
Albert Costa gets 7
Carlos Moya gets 7
Juan Carlos had to defend 15
Albert Costa had to defend 30
Carlos Moya had to defend 15
So it looks like Juan Carlos is passing the other two Spaniards, for 5th place!

In the champions race I do believe they are all in a dead heat.
The points they were defending don't matter for the race, only the entry system.
Ferrero was 8 points behind, and gained 8 points on them - dead heat :)

Juan Carlos is still tied for #5 in the Race, but he's moved up to #6 in the entry system! :)
