Just to let you budding gamblers know. Fremantle have never won at the Gabba.

Here are the clashes at the Gabba.

1 2006 9 Bris Lions 21.15 (141) vs Fremantle 10.13 (73) Gabba WON 68
5 2002 9 Bris Lions 16.13 (109) vs Fremantle 11.13 (79) Gabba WON 30
7 2001 5 Bris Lions 25.21 (171) vs Fremantle 19.8 (122) Gabba WON 49
8 2000 22 Bris Lions 23.18 (156) vs Fremantle 7.7 (49) Gabba WON 107
10 1999 20 Bris Lions 28.13 (181) vs Fremantle 9.13 (67) Gabba WON 114

As you can see, Fremantle have never taken it up to us at the Gabba before. Even when we weren't in our glory years, we flogged them. We've had easy wins over them in Brisbane and I can't see it changing. We also have high scoring contests so taking an over might be a good bet too.

Bulldogs should cover against West Coast. They take it up to West Coast each time they play. Their running game suits West Coast and thus it will be a close hard fought contest.

Kangaroos and Sydney always have good contests and so I expect Kangaroos to cover.

The last time West Coast played the Bulldogs:

2006 SF West C 16-17-113 defeated Wstrn B 5-9-39, Subiaco Oval

Also, in this game the Bulldogs entered their forward 50m zone fewer times than ANY OTHER TEAM, for the WHOLE of the 2006 season.

If Adelaide are 1.42 ML against the Pies, they won't have a very big spread to cover.

Pies haven't beaten the Crows since 2004. I expect the Crows to win by 20+

Carlton are 7.5 against St.Kilda. I think that's a bargain. But I will more than likely go Carlton ML. St.Kilda are pathetic and I can't see their depleted backline stopping Whitnall and Fevola who are in terrific form. Whitnall will stretch the Saints defence. Might be some value taking Carlton now.

Brisbane 40+ is $6. Could very well happen.

Kangaroos given 13.5 against Sydney? That could also be a good bet to consider.

Getting on Port,Hawks, Roos and Lions

Roos are a good chance. Sydney has a few injuries and Roos are looking alright

For hawks, they will possibly have Croad, Jacobs and Vandenberg back. Bombers are looking alright though, it will all depend on neutralising Lucas influence in the forward 50

Saints will thrash Carlton. Too much class for Carlton. Gehrig, Kosi, Riewoldt against a crap Carlton defence.

Geelong will beat Richmond.Richmonds chip chip chip is shit. Wallet has NFI

Dont LIVE of the PAST Bolar, totally different Lions n Dockers team altogether now!!!

You also have to remember that Brisbane flogged the Saints at the Gabba in round 2.

Have you also forgotten how the Dockers started the season? They havn't convinced me.

They had a win over a depleted Melbourne side with no attack and the biggest injury list in the AFL - any team could beat Melbourne. And they managed to beat Adelaide. That's it.

Good luck for you if you take the Dockers but personally, Dockers stand no chance at the Gabba. We own them at the Gabba even when we were crap and that's enough for me to take us.

Plus Lappin is back this week if he doesn't get injured by Sunday and Drummond should make his way back into our side which will bring us some stability - especially the kicking in department.

Charman, Brown and Johnson up forward on a big Gabba ground will kick a winning score.

Also last year - when we flogged Dockers, we weren't playing well and Dockers were in the top 4 being premiership material. They were in form.

Okay if I'm not around tomorrow, here are my final bets.

Brisbane ML @ $1.90

Also taking Brisbane to win over 15.5 points @ $2.60

I'm also taking a small play on Brisbane to win by 40+ points @ $6.25

Carlton +8.5 @ $1.91 - I might take a stab at the over.

Also

Richmond V Geelong (TD) - Twilight Sunday

Geelong are an overated team. Last week shows. They have done nothing about last year and they will still be the rubbish they. The wins they have had this year are far from impressive. Richmond may not have won a game this year, but they have been gallant in defeat. Last week against West Coast they impressed me. I just think that Richmond will be too strong for them this week. This is Richmond's week this week to get their first win of the season.

Richmond +12.5 @ $1.91

Richmond ML @ $2.40

Melbourne V Port Adelaide (MCG) - Saturday Arvo

Someone call me crazy about the following bet I am about to take. I've been thinking 17.5 @ $1.91 or 24.5 @ $1.70.

Neitz is expected to play this week - so that's a target for Melbourne in their forward line. Melbourne's defence will have to stand tall against Port Adelaide. Even if Neitz plays, I'm taking this now.

Port has never beaten Melbourne at the MCG. Never. That's right. There's something about the MCG against Melbourne that Port don't like. Perhaps it's because Melbourne have great knowledge of the MCG and can match up well with Port there, I don't know. But I'm taking Melbourne at the points this week. I think the trend will continue.

1 1998 5 Melbourne 14.18 (102) vs Port Adel 6.17 (53) MCG WON 49
2 1999 5 Melbourne 13.12 (90) vs Port Adel 9.12 (66) MCG WON 24
3 2002 2 Melbourne 16.13 (109) vs Port Adel 11.16 (82) MCG WON 27
4 2003 7 Melbourne 16.15 (111) vs Port Adel 12.12 (84) MCG WON 27
5 2004 4 Melbourne 18.16 (124) vs Port Adel 10.11 (71) MCG WON 53
6 2006 13 Melbourne 18.12 (120) vs Port Adel 12.10 (82) MCG WON 38

As you can see, even when Port were decent in 02, 03 and won the flag in 04, they still didn't manage to beat Melbourne at the MCG.

Melbourne may be a bit depleted but with the expected return of Neitz, I can see Melbourne covering this. There is not much difference between 1.91 and 1.70 so 7 points could make the world of difference if Melbourne don't kick straight. Port should win, but it won't be by much.

Melbourne +24.5 @ $1.70

One last bet I'm taking is the following

Adelaide ML X West Coast ML @ $1.80 - Feel this is pretty safe. Adelaide should beat Collingwood who can't trouble them at the Gabba and West Coast should get over the Dogs.

Good luck!

i tried this trend , 2 seasons ago .. betting both teams under 39.5 for odds around 2.5 each if you end up winning the bet , your dollar gets back $1.25 approx return
on the long run one game out of 4 ends over 39.5 and you end up losing big time

Geelong kicked 239 against Brisbane in 1992.

That's the highest score I can find.

How many years has it been since a side has kicked 200+ in a game?

Would it be as far back as Ablett Snr? or Dunstall?

Believe it or not the Brisbane Bears put 200+ on the Swans back in the late 80's or very early 90's ... from memory it was a game they took to the Gabba .. Think it was during Mr Football's tenure as coach of the Swans ...

Yeah sure bring back old memories,if i can recall i think Swans put up a decent score against the Roos at the SCG about 6-8yrs back maybe, too hard to remember!!Power has come close in putting up some big scores in the last few yrs but yeah havent seen the 30+ goals per game for awhile but was good to see :D not good for Tigers but!!

Yeah

Cats scored 239 against the Bears in 91 or 92. Brownless kicked about 10 goals off memory.

Then a few years later, the Bears put up about 220 against the Swans.

The Lions in about 2000 or 1999, put up 180 odd against Freo - we had 20 goals at half time and were on target for the record.

Good luck!

I]Carlton +8.5 @ $1.91 - LOST

[U]Richmond +12.5 @ $1.91

Richmond ML @ $2.40

I]Melbourne +24.5 @ $1.70 WON

[U]Adelaide ML X West Coast ML @ $1.80 - LOST - Get on the Lions this week against the injury depleted crows.

Brisbane ML @ $1.90 - WON

Also taking Brisbane to win over 15.5 points @ $2.60 - WON

I'm also taking a small play on Brisbane to win by 40+ points @ $6.25 $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ That made up for the other losses and more!

And guys, Brisbane top 8 that I got at the start of the year looking a little better now hey?

Bolar Bolabi
05-07-2007, 04:22 AM
Also, get on Lance Franklin for the Coleman. I said at the start of the year he'd kick 60+ and by the looks he'll get close to 100. With noone else in attack for Hawthorn, he's going to kick a lot of goals this year if the midfield deliver it to him the way they did on Saturday. He's a champ!

Richmond are horrific. That performance was shocking. If I was Richmond supporters, I'd rip up my membership. They didn't even try. That was the worst performance I've seen in a football team for quite some time.
