Poor Kristof, he was really off today, especially his serve didn't work at all (he won only 6 points on serve  ) and Rafa was just brutal. He did lose focus twice though and let Kristof break him, otherwise it would've been a double bagel.

Rafa's forehand was a bit iffy in some games and he really needs to stop getting broken when serving for sets, that's a dangerous lack of focus that'll cost him dearly against a better player. :(

What is the record for consecutive points won? Didn't Rafa win 21 in a row in the second set?

Congrats Rafa and better luck next time for Vliegen. A Rafa-Fed final is a bit closer, yay!

I can't bear to see Vliegen's eyes in the last several games, Rafa's ruthless.

But got broke when severing for 1 set and in the opening game of the 2nd set.

The funny thing is Kristof didn't have any game point but had 4break points and coverted 2 of them.

It should have been 6-0, 6-0.

Rafa took a Power Nap!! But it is beginning to get a little too predictable that he seems to fade out at the end of the first and beginning of the second sets.

It's been a long time since I've seen Rafa on clay, but he seemed more aggressive than I remembered, ghosting and rushing toward the net whenever he had an opportunity. I love to see this.

Good to see that if Vliegen can't attack the net, he is useless on clay.

Good performance from Nadal too

Rafa played top notch clay court tennis...

However Kirstof looked a defeated man when he walked onto court, he had no belief in himself (not that it would of saved him, but he certain can win more games than that!).

^^^ Dear people, I have a confession to make.

It was I, and nobody else, responsible for that silly title.

Mr. You-Know-Who and I posted a report on Raf's victory at about the same time - and for some strange reason the mods decided to merge the threads, rightly acknowledging that Mr. You-Know-Who was some two pico-seconds ahead of me with posting, but for some obscure reason, kept my stupid, obviously a non-native speaker's, thread title.

And in contrary to some other people on this board, I'm quite capable of admitting my mistakes, eh.

Actually it was not entirely wrong:

to destruct = to destroy intentionally (a rocket or missile) after launch

Now if we give Vliegen the nickname 'rocket' or 'missile', there is no problem at all. :D

Well, you know, I hoped that this ... eh... bit of non-eloquency (?;)) of mine would just die down, but then I saw people making a big deal of it - and even when it concerns Mr. You-Know-How, aka the 300-addict, I'll always stand up for Justice Be Said and Done.

I indeed was under too much pression when I made that post. No wonder, I daresay! :p
