It all seems like very hard work for Gonzo at the moment - he's trying to allow the sort of form he found in Australia to come out, and it isn't doing - and so he's trying to force it - and that isn't working either.

I'm sad for Gonzo, I love him. But I love Andreev, too, and I can see him coming out of this quarter. How great would an Andreev/Nadal semifinal be? :) Considering Andreev was the last person to beat Rafa on clay...

Good win for Igor. :D Nothing is wrong with Gonzalez, losing to Andreev on clay is hardly any cause for concern and it is not as if he can always play as well as he did at the AO.

Igor is definitely working his way back up, very well done. I feel for Gonzo though. I hope the rest of the season brightens up for him, I'd hate to see him pull off a Baghdatis.

Gonzo is going through a bad patch but Igor can play on clay so not an unexpected result.

I'm not a tennis expert, but I'm assuming that the inside-out forehand's central purpose is to create direction. I love the way Igor comes around that ball and just rockets it across. :)

Good win from Igor and this is not a surprising result, as it was Gonzo's 1st match on clay for some time and Igor has been on the surface for a while and the Davis Cup triumph helped him for sure.

Gonzo now has the expectations to live up to after his AO run, and so far he hasn't handled it well.

the problem is not Larry, it's Feña, his bh slice is awful, and also he lost confidence with his fh... he needs to hit hard again like he did it at the end of last year and in the AO, if you dont trust in your guns youre finished in tennis (see Coria's serve)

Saw the match later at night. Looked like upper left thigh (muscle) strain, he got it taped at the beginning of the 2nd set after he got broken but didn't seem to affect his movement much. :shrug:

Totally agree, Coria's serve was Sampras-like back in the day.
