Re: Miloslav Mecir Jr. (SVK) - son of The Olympic games 1988 winner

Miloslav Mecir is the player with the best known name in the tournament, as his father -Miloslav Mecir senior- was one of the best players in the world during the 80s. Olympic Medalist in Seoul (1988) and twice the finalist in Grand Slams, Miloslav Mecir reached a career high ranking of number 4 (22.2.1988). 22-year-old Mecir junior, has a long way ahead to match his father's success. "As a child I was offered everything. My father helped a lot in tennis, but now I continue alone. At the same time he does what he enjoys best. He is the captain of the Slovak Davis Cup team and president in a tennis club. We don't see each other much. We talked recently about my coach change" said younger Mecir, who is appearing in Status Athens Open 2010 making the comeback after a month away with injury. "My goal is to qualify to the Main Draw and then I will see what is the best I can do.." he stated.
