Re: US Open 2017

So no Mergea and no Petzschner (no GGL either). Not a lot of interesting teams on this list but Groth/Qureshi and Khachanov/Rublev look like dangerous floaters.

I also like the look of Kyrgios/Reid, Haase/Middelkoop and Knowle/Peya. Pospisil/Zimonjic is odd as is Paes/Raja but they could be dangerous too.

The Pospisil/Zimonjic pairing caught my eye. Zimonjic is 41 and frankly doesn't seem to be in the greatest shape, but he's a multi-Slam champion who definitely knows how to play doubles. Pospisil, much younger & fitter, has some experience and success in dubs but has never dedicated himself full-time to doubles because he's always simultaneously pursued a singles career. Still, he's a Wimbledon champion who definitely has skills on the doubles court. With Zimonjic's savvy and Pospisil's talent, this team could make a dent in the draw.

Re: US Open 2017

Zimonjic finally plays with doubles specialists(with Marrero,Matkowski,Pavic and now Pospisil).Vasek has very strong serve and huge return, with Nenad's skills at net this could be realy dangerous team.

He's probably unfortunately injured again. Didn't play for a month and was despite winning the title handicapped in his last match in Bastad.

Re: US Open 2017

Granollers OUT - Dodig will have to find another partner. Mergea looms maybe???

I think most likely Dodig will wait to see if anyone else pulls out but otherwise will probably go with Draganja. Maybe an outside chance he plays with Cilic if Cilic needs match play?

He's not out, he wrote in his instagram story that he hopes to be ready for the US Open.

Re: US Open 2017

Oh he's just out of singles. Sounds very doubtful for doubles though.
