Re: Toronto

Interesting to note Baker/Bopanna here and in Washington - they seem like a team now. Tough on Mektic though.

It seems like Pavic/Dodig was only an agreement while Granollers was playing singles challengers.

Nestor/Pospisil with a likely WC. I am guessing maybe Shamasdin/Shapovalov for the other one.

Matkowski,Lindstedt,Mergea,Zimonjic,Mirnyi.Where are they?
Why they didn't sign?
I would assume they all signed up for the tournament, but their doubles ranking is too bad now to get into the main draw.

Re: Toronto

Oh no,I just have noticed that Matkowski/Zimonjic would be in,if they signed onsite.
Wrong, the on-site cutoff was 58 and their combined ranking is 32+43 = 75

They would have made it on the advanced list though, since 5 teams appear to have dropped out (Dodig/Granollers, Cabal/Farah, Carreno Busta/Verdasco, Baker/Bopanna, and ALTs Johnson/Muller) and the cut was all the way down to 82, their combined ranking was 77.

I'm watching Paire/Monfils - Murray/Soares. Paire/Monfils make a really fun pair to watch. Paire hit about 5 lob winners, 3 of them in the first set tiebeak which they won 7-4.

Must be very frustrating for full time double players to be outplayed by single guys who are constantly making jokes and laughing between points

Very good chance for Bopanna/Dodig to make the final. They seem like they could be a really good pair if they played full time together. Maybe next year as Bopanna succeeds with someone who is good from the baseline generally and Dodig with someone with a big serve.

I wonder if Murray/Soares will continue into next year, I feel like they are not going to be happy with these results and I think the chance of Murray teaming up with someone like Venus or even Tecau wouldn't surprise me.
